Manhattan Wedding in the Snow

NYC-winter-wedding-in-the-snow

New York City is so romantic in the snow! One of our designers captured this perfect winter-wedding moment outside Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan this weekend. The photo took our breath away. Our bride in her fur shrug, the visible adoration and joy, and lush wedding flowers aglow in the snow… So much to love!

For a peak behind the scenes as we created floral decor for the reception, take a look at our Facebook album or follow us on Instagram @brideandblossom.

Styled Shoot With West Elm Scarsdale

Here are more lovely images from the styled shoot we did recently with a fantastic group of collaborators. (For part one, see Thinking Inside The Box.)

We composed the bridal bouquet and centerpiece arrangements with loose, romantic blooms in a soft color palette of cream, lavender, blush and green. Dahlias played a starring role, supported by roses and hydrangea. Furniture and accessories in rustic wood and gleaming metal gave the set a a modern and glamorous look. Inspired? Peacock Feathers for Weddings

Peacock Feather Bouquet

Luxe, jewel-toned peacock feathers make a bold statement in wedding decor and bridal accessories. A magnificent wonder of nature, the feathers’ popularity spiked during the opulent Art Deco era, and have long symbolized renewal and eternal life in Eastern cultures. It seems only appropriate to include such fine plumage in weddings. After all, this bird’s audacious mating rituals rival our own poshest ceremonies and celebrations.

Above, we layered peacock feathers to wrap a bouquet of deep purple blossoms, including hydrangea and call lilies in burgundy tones. Below, more striking ideas from around the wedding-sphere. To get all the details, visit our Pinterest board, Feathers in Wedding Decor and re-pin away!

We Love: The Centerpiece Box Store

Centerpiece Boxes

There is something so satisfying about a shop that does one thing, and does it really well. If you are a florist, a stylist, or a DIY- inclined bride-to-be, you need to know about the Centerpiece Box store.

Simple, well-constructed, wooden boxes are a great base for creative arrangements of flowers, candles, moss and greenery. Available in unfinished or reclaimed wood, boxes can be custom painted and engraved with table numbers, quotes, wedding names and dates, or decorative patterns. The reclaimed-wood option is perfect for rustic barn and beach weddings. Once you know where to get good basics, let your imagination (and your Pinterest boards) take the lead.

Signature Cocktails With Spice & Sparkle

imageWelcome guests to your wedding reception with a festive signature cocktail that embodies fall’s bright spirit. Signature drinks need not be fussy to make an impression. Standout recipes are often inspired twists on familiar classics. Take for example, the Pinterest-popular Apple Cider Bellini, a combination of cider, sparkling wine or champagne, plus a touch of fig or pomegranate liquor. Attracted to the concept of signature cocktails but not sure how to choose a drink that will please your crowd? Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Consider Color: If your bridesmaids will wear plum and your bouquet and centerpieces will include purple orchids and lavender roses, champagne cocktails, created with crème de cassis blackcurrent liquor will perfectly coordinate.
