During the past few months, we’ve watched as famous brides led the big return to extravagant and luxurious celebrations of love. Limitless budgets and access to the top stylists, designers, and jewelers aside, many of these famous women experienced a journey to saying ‘I Do’ that felt somewhat relatable. We read about how these wedding stories had their ups and downs with chapters that included putting nuptial plans on hold due to COVID, social media friendships established during lockdown that grew into promise of life-long commitment, and rekindling an old flame that flickered years before. What all these brides have in common though is how each made sure that their walk down the aisle was done in style. We were left dreaming of gorgeous wedding day attire without limitations. From jaw-dropping gowns to sparkling jewelry to beautiful bouquets, we are breaking down the looks of our favorite celebrity brides from summer 2022.

Britney Spears
We can all agree, seeing Britney Spears make positive news headlines for her much-anticipated wedding to Sam Ashgari was a great way to start off the season. The couple married in a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles with a star-studded guest list that included Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, and Paris Hilton showing up for the celebrations. Also in attendance was Italian designer Donatella Versace who created the bride’s custom off-the shoulder gown with revealing leg slit on one side. Britney finished her classic-meets-sexy bridal look with a satin trimmed chapel-length veil, sheer gloves, and glittering diamond jewelry by designer Stephanie Gottlieb. While it’s unclear if Britney carried a bouquet, it is clear that flowers were integral to creating the romantic, fairytale atmosphere for the day.  Britney and Sam exchanged vows before a magnificent floral backdrop by Marks Gardens featuring lush pink, blush, white, and cream blooms with rich greenery.

Alexandra Daddario
After a chance encounter on a street in downtown New York City followed by a COVID courtship, actor Alexandra Daddario and producer Andrew Form married in a chic, laidback wedding in New Orleans. A long-time admirer of the fashion-forward creations of Danielle Frankel, Alexandra sought out the designer for her big day look, choosing a 1920s inspired gown in pleated silk with lace appliqué. The bride kept her accessories light to beat the Deep South summer heat, wearing an ethereal floral embellished veil, simple stud earrings and glistening diamond bracelets while carrying a beautiful white floral and greenery bouquet. The couple exchanged vows in a simple ceremony at Preservation Hall with planner Michelle Norwood making sure the event went off without a hitch. A Big Easy wedding isn’t complete without a parasol or two – the bride and groom donned matching black and white embroidered umbrellas as they led guests through the French Quarter to the reception at Bar Marilou.

Sophia Bush
Actor Sophia Bush and entrepreneur and real estate investor Grant Hughs first met 10 years ago and reconnected during COVID. Their virtual friendship blossomed into real life love and the couple wed in mid-June at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They chose the mid-west city not just for its natural beauty, but also to bring attention to Tulsa’s cultural renaissance and recent civil, philanthropic, and leadership achievements. From the moment the ring went on her finger, Sophia had her heart set on wearing a dress by Monique L’huillier – a voluminous floral embellished one in particular – and enlisted the celebrated bridal designer to create her custom look. Together, they dreamed up a personalized version of the original dress featuring a meaningful botanical theme of peach Oklahoma tea roses, deep orange California poppies, warm green and deep inky Italian olives, and butterfly ranunculus – images of Sophia and Grant’s bees were scanned into the print and could be seen buzzing amongst the blooms. Putting the finishing touches on her jaw-dropping ensemble, the bride wore statement diamond floral earrings by Briony Raymond New York, a vibrant, blossom adorned veil, and carried a gardenesque bouquet by Bows and Arrows Flowers that matched her dress beautifully.

Sarah Hyland
Actor Sarah Hyland and TV and radio host Wells Adams started planning their wedding in September 2019. Envisioning a big celebration, Sarah knew they would have to put their plans on hold while the pandemic played out, often updating her fans with the progress (and setbacks) on social media. Finally, on August 20, 2022, her dreams came true when the couple married in an outdoor ceremony in the vineyards of Sunset Winery in California. Wanting to wear something that felt old-world romantic yet modern at the same time, Sarah turned to famed celebrity bridal designer Vera Wang. Her first of two dresses – the bride would slip into a second look by Wang as the day went on – took shape in a hand-pleated bodice with French tulle sleeves that gave way to a ballgown skirt with French bustle. Sarah complemented her stunning look with a cathedral-length Italian tulle veil, classic diamond tear drop earrings, and a sun-kissed peach rose and greenery bouquet by florist Mark’s Garden.

Jennifer Lopez
We must admit, a part of us loved the fact that Jennifer Lopez, one of the world’s most glamorous women, decided to wear a white Alexander McQueen dress that she had for years (a second Zuhair Murhad dress was worn during the official ceremony) for her and Ben Affleck’s low-key Las Vegas wedding. This matrimonial beauty and sentiment was only a hint of what was to come as the couple would celebrate with a second wedding on August 20th at their home in Savannah, Georgia. Celebrity event planner Colin Cowie managed the details of the weekend-long festivities while florists Jenevieve Peralta Floral Design and Tulip & Twigs designed the floral decor. Jennifer walked the aisle wearing a custom Ralph Lauren gown featuring a classic column silhouette with turtleneck and flutter cap sleeves. Epitomizing dramatic romance, the dress descended into a diaphanous, ruffle skirt fashioned from 1,000 handkerchiefs that were attached by hand. The striking bride accessorized with a cathedral-length veil and polished round white floral bouquet. We could devote an entire blog post to her jewelry. To match her iconic style, Jennifer adorned herself with South Sea cultured pearl and diamond earrings and a pearl and diamond floral ring from luxury jeweler Mikimoto.
