Brooklyn Charm at The Liberty Warehouse

Andrea and John met moving into the freshmen dorms at the University of Pennsylvania in the summer of 2006. They were next door neighbors in the Quad and became fast friends navigating college life in a new city together.  While their friendship escalated throughout college, it wasn’t until the winter of 2009, after they both took semesters abroad in two different Italian cities, that John finally asked Andrea out on a date – and they’ve been together ever since!

The couple was married this past June at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights.  The ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception at The Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, a breathtaking converted warehouse right at the water’s edge, featuring exposed brick, original wooden beams, a full bridal suite, and panoramic views of New York Harbor.

Andrea and John chose romantic peach, coral, and blush tones, accented by spectacular pops of blue and green.

The reception hall featured dramatic high centerpieces of flowering white mock orange branches, in gorgeous contrast with the warehouse’s bare wood, exposed brick, and warm uplighting.

Andrea: I took a peek into the reception room as we were walking outside to do family photos. I was blown away.  I pulled my mom aside to have her take a peek too, and we were both blown away by how beautiful the entire room looked.

The low centerpieces echoed the textured earth tones of the surrounding space in peach, ivory, coral and dark green.  Soft sea-green napkins annunciated the floral pastels, creating a stunning and truly unique palette.

Andrea wore incredible sky blue heels by Badgley Mischka beneath a classic trumpet gown by Matthew Christopher, and carried a stunning, textured bouquet composed of white and blush Peonies, peach garden Roses, white Ranunculus, and cascading sage green Seeded Eucalyptus.

John and his groomsmen followed suit with adorable bright blue shark-print statement socks, after John’s second name, Sharkey. A single stem of peach Ranunculus wrapped with black completed John’s lovely, festive look.

And have you ever seen such delightful bridesmaids? Andrea’s girl squad was decked out in peachy keen Donna Morgan, and carried mesmerizing bouquets of coral Peonies, peach garden Roses, and light pink Ranunculus.

Andrea: The bouquets were exactly what I envisioned – especially mine!  They arrived as we were finishing up hair and makeup, and everything was coming together, and I remember being so excited about how they would “complete” the bridal party so that we would be all ready for photos.

Leaha Bourgeois of husband-and-wife photography team POPography captured some incredible moments before the beautiful harbor and the charming streets of Downtown Brooklyn.

Congratulations Andrea and John – #sharkeyandwifey for life!
