After Sammi and Steven’s picture-perfect ceremony overlooking Downtown Manhattan, guests were treated to cocktail hour, enjoying hors d’oeuvres alongside the newlywed’s signature drink, The Winston, named after their French bulldog. Then everyone headed to Tribeca Rooftop’s reception room for dinner followed by a glittering night of fun. Here, this month’s featured bride shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding Story.

Part 4: Reception & Centerpieces

When asked about the inspiration for her reception décor, Sammi said, “I knew I wanted everything to stand out from all of the weddings I had ever been to. I also wanted my reception to be a graduation from my ceremony, which was more intimate with softer colors. Florals were always going to be a big part of my decor, so in my eyes, I visualized having three different centerpieces, numerous varieties of flowers and as many shades of pink as possible! I wanted the vibe to be glamorous, romantic, and of course fun!”

The bride’s vision was executed in an eye-catching tablescape that filled the room with beautiful lyricism. Some tables were decorated with a high, mushroom-shaped centerpiece featuring vendela, majolica spray, paradise, faith, and moody blue roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, and cascading Phalaenopsis orchids in hues of pink (ranging from blush to magenta), white, and ivory accented with touches of Italian ruscus. Other tables were topped with a chic crystal candelabra centerpiece featuring various roses, dahlias, lisianthus, hydrangeas, and Phalaenopsis orchids complemented by lemon leaf, Italian ruscus, and elegant taper candles. The last style took shape in a low, round centerpiece of butterfly ranunculuses, various roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus, Phalaenopsis orchids, and verdant greenery arranged around a trio of glass-stemmed floating candles.

Sammi couldn’t wait for her and Steven to make their grand entrance down Tribeca Rooftop’s staircase – the moment played out like a scene from a Hollywood movie. “We entered to ‘Welcome to New York’ by Taylor Swift,” she adds. “I was really excited to have all of our favorite people be with us in New York City.” Illuminated by a canopy of chandeliers and hanging bubble lights, their first steps on the dance floor also looked made for the silver-screen. The bride looks back and says, “Our first dance was choreographed, but we improvised a little in the end.” The rest of the evening was punctuated with memories to last a lifetime. She reminisces, “I’ll forever remember all the speeches given by our loved ones, going in the chairs for the hora, my parents going in the chairs for the hora, and dancing the night away with my husband and best friends.”

If you’ve been following along, you may be wondering if Sammi ever got to wear her pink dress. “I was casually looking for something that I could change into for the last hour. About three weeks before my wedding, I found the one,” she exclaims. “The vibrant shade of pink, the fun, flirty style – the dress was everything I wanted to a perfect tee.” Sammi adds with a laugh, “I even made a second entrance down the staircase in it.”
