Wedding Trends: Floral Cakes

Is there anything better than flowers and cake? We’re pretty sure there isn’t. Coordination between your florist and your cake designer can be a great way to keep continuity throughout your decor, and make your flowers a part of your reception. Below are some of our favorite cakes we’ve collaborated on, and some inspiration we’ve picked up along the way!

1. The Naked Cake

Gone are the days when white buttercream and/or fondant were a wedding cake requirement. The “naked cake,” made popular by Momofuku Milk Bar, is at once rustic, on-trend, and ultramodern.

2. The Succulent Cake

Succulents are all the rage right now, popping up in centerpieces, bridal bouquets, and wedding decor — but this is the first time we’ve seen one on a cake! We’re so inspired by this simple, trend-forward cake.

3. The Updated Classic

Addding an unexpected element, like flowers, doesn’t mean you have to stray too far from the traditional. This cake from a Bride and Blossom wedding at Oak Tree Country Club is the perfect blend of classic cake with unique details.
