When we think of the phrase “dream wedding” in the Bride & Blossom studio, we don’t mean a high-maintenance affair with pounds of tulle and a cavalcade of stretch limos. For us, a dream wedding is one where the couple’s unique love story shines through anything, even a rainy day in Manhattan.

The Reinecke wedding was the kind we dream about. These Boston College sweethearts held their wedding at Battery Gardens, accompanied by the mellow vibes of the Clark Eno Orchestra. The bride wore Kate Spade shoes for the ceremony and reception, but had no problem slipping into Hunter boots when the weather turned wet. From champagne with her bridesmaids until the moment she said “I do,” bride Kristen McEvitt was the perfect image of a princess.

Featured Venue: The Village Club of Sands Point

Since the beginnings of Bride & Blossom, we have had the privilege of working with so many extraordinary venues, ranging from intimate urban spaces like Studio 450 to sprawling rustic-romantic landscapes like Blue Hill at Stone Barns. One of our favorite locations by far has been the Village Club of Sands Point, at 1916 Italian Renaissance-style mansion built in upstate NY by Issac Guggenheim.

What makes this space special is not only its inherent beauty, but its ability to be completely transformed into an absolute fairytale with the right touches. Our mother-of-the-bride said it best: “You all not only met, but exceeded our expectations for the day! You transformed the Village Club of Sands Point Mansion, which is already a beautiful setting for a wedding, into something that was magical and truly memorable.”

New York Elegance at The St. Regis Hotel

Bride Cheryl Fradin and groom Adam Caviezel have one of those old-school New York City love stories that most people will tell you is the stuff of fiction.

“Adam and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at Houston Hall. He caught my eye, and we started talking. He got right to the point and asked me if I had a boyfriend. When I said no, he asked if I was at the party with anyone. Adam took me out dancing when the party was over, and we both felt an instant connection. Five weeks later we were in love and inseparable, one year after that we were engaged, and one year after that we were preparing to walk down the aisle! Every day we thank our lucky stars that we walked into each other’s lives.”

Classic Romance in Red Hook

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with one of our new favorite photographers, Le Image, at one of our all-time favorite venues, The Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn. With such a great team assembled, there was no doubt that bride Delaine Duncan’s wedding was going to be exceptionally stunning.

A simple color palette of monochromatic whites, with accents of subtle greenery and the occasional red rose, created a mood that carried through the evening. From details like the delicate lace wrap on the bride’s bouquet to the unique floral arch we constructed for the ceremony, the day was picture-perfect from beginning to end.

Brooklyn: the new Manhattan. Whether you’re a resident of this storied borough, a visitor, or someone who loves Brooklyn style but lives far from the shores of New York, there are endless ways to incorporate a Brooklyn-vibe into your wedding. Here are five of our favorite details:

1. The Floral Bike

One of the trademarks of the Brooklyn lifestyle is the fixed-gear bicycle, which is the perfect blend of stylish, healthy, and environmentally-friendly. Sunset Elegance at The Liberty Warehouse

The Liberty Warehouse is one of New York’s most unique and breathtaking wedding venues. The pre-war building on Brooklyn’s iconic Red Hook shipping docks was built in the 1850s, and is the only place in the state where you can see the Statue of Liberty’s face as you look out over New York Harbor.

This was an especially fun wedding to do because of the sunset timing and the overall elegance, enhanced by little details such as the bride’s shimmering, beaded gown, candles flickering in tall glass cylinders, and black table linens. By paying close attention to every element of the decor, we were able to create a romantic mood that set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
