Classic Romance in Red Hook

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with one of our new favorite photographers, Le Image, at one of our all-time favorite venues, The Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn. With such a great team assembled, there was no doubt that bride Delaine Duncan’s wedding was going to be exceptionally stunning.

A simple color palette of monochromatic whites, with accents of subtle greenery and the occasional red rose, created a mood that carried through the evening. From details like the delicate lace wrap on the bride’s bouquet to the unique floral arch we constructed for the ceremony, the day was picture-perfect from beginning to end.

We Love: Natural Expressions Photography

Who are two of the most important people on your wedding day? The bride and groom, best man and maid-of-honor, and last but certainly not least, your florist and your photographer. Because we here at Bride and Blossom spend months making sure that every last detail of your wedding decor is perfect, and your photographer’s job is to capture that perfection, we naturally form close relationships with the photographers we work with.

Natural Expressions  is one of our favorites. They work closely with each bride to create a customized plan that highlights the natural beauty of your love story while using the sleek conventions of fashionable photojournalism to make sure that you remember your wedding day for decades to come. A winner of multiple Wedding Wire awards, Natural Expressions not only takes the traditional wedding photos, but they also offer a variety of photobooth options, ranging from social media kiosks to vintage photo booths, which are always a crowd pleaser!

5 Wedding Details That Are So Brooklyn

Brooklyn: the new Manhattan. Whether you’re a resident of this storied borough, a visitor, or someone who loves Brooklyn style but lives far from the shores of New York, there are endless ways to incorporate a Brooklyn-vibe into your wedding. Here are five of our favorite details:

1. The Floral Bike

One of the trademarks of the Brooklyn lifestyle is the fixed-gear bicycle, which is the perfect blend of stylish, healthy, and environmentally-friendly. This floral-embellished bicycle from a Bride & Blossom wedding held at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a great way to set the mood for your guests upon arrival.

Sunset Elegance at The Liberty Warehouse

The Liberty Warehouse is one of New York’s most unique and breathtaking wedding venues. The pre-war building on Brooklyn’s iconic Red Hook shipping docks was built in the 1850s, and is the only place in the state where you can see the Statue of Liberty’s face as you look out over New York Harbor.

This was an especially fun wedding to do because of the sunset timing and the overall elegance, enhanced by little details such as the bride’s shimmering, beaded gown, candles flickering in tall glass cylinders, and black table linens. By paying close attention to every element of the decor, we were able to create a romantic mood that set the stage for an unforgettable evening.

We Love: CatBird Wedding

Flowers and engagement rings are a pairing as old as weddings themselves, and as NYC’s only luxury florist dedicated exclusively to weddings, the Bride and Blossom team has a particular affinity for unique bling. Brooklyn-based jeweler CatBird now has an exclusive line of engagement and wedding-day jewelry (and even a Wedding Annex you can visit!), and we can’t get enough of their classic-yet-edgy vibe. Here are some of our favorites!

Whether you’re picking out a ring with your fianceé, dropping hints to your longtime beau, searching for the perfect bridesmaid gift, or looking for “something blue” to wear down the aisle, CatBird Wedding has you covered.

California Dreaming with Carats & Cake

Here on the East Coast, we often look to the other side for inspiration. West Coast weddings have a particular vibe: soft colors, outdoor settings (thanks to their perpetually perfect weather!), bohemian brides. We looked to one of our favorite websites, Carats & Cake, and picked out a few of the California weddings that dreams are made of.

Elizabeth & Eric, Palm Springs

With California’s majestic mountains, palm trees, and lush greenery providing the backdrop, this ceremony is everything a traditional Cali wedding should be. We love the touches of Hollywood-style glamour that offset the natural beauty of the location.
