Sweet Spring Wedding at the Harvard Club of New York

harvard-club-ny-newlyweds-uplift-photography

Kristy and Dave’s wedding brought lighthearted joy to the storied halls of the Harvard Club of New York. Opened in 1894, and on of the city’s first buildings to be officially designated a landmark, this is one of Manhattan’s most exclusive wedding venues.

For this spring wedding, beautiful bride Kristy wanted stylish, elegant wedding flowers that would be at home against the club’s traditional mahogany paneling, while also expressing the freshness of the season. A soft blush, cream and white color palette, featuring cherry blossoms, hit all the right notes.

We created a romantic, multi-dimensional bridal bouquet with budded and bloomed garden roses, blush anemones with black centers, and lisianthus. Bridesmaids carried simple, loosely-rounded bouquets of blush ranunculus and garden roses, accented with lisianthus.

An Abundance of Roses: Dream Wedding at The Plaza Hotel

Plaza Hotel New York Beautiful Bride Fred Marcus Studio

“Jason and I grew up a few blocks from one another in New York. We always knew of one another, but never met,” bride Marianna told us. “One day, ten years ago, I was walking home during a horrible snow storm. Jason and a mutual friend stopped their car to offer me a ride. Being the girl that I am, I said no way!”

But fate kept trying to bring this couple together. “Six years went by before we met again at a party,” said Marianna. “As soon as he walked in, he saw me and our eyes locked. Ever since that moment, we have been inseparable. On December 30, 2013, Jason popped the question in Hawaii.”

Wearable Tech Engagement Ring Records Memories

Jewelry has always served as a memory keeper. Now, diamond engagement rings can literally hold wedding memories like vows, photos and web links. Momento Diamond rings by Galatea will be introduced this fall. Luxury wearable wedding tech has truly arrived.

“Think of 50 years from now, and it has your proposal and your wedding vows and your baby being born and your baby saying, ‘I love you.’ It will be so valuable in 50 years, when you actually hand it over, and you can say, ‘Everything is in here.’ It’s like a locket but interactive,” said Galatea founder Chi Huynh said in JCK magazine.

Glamour at The St. Regis New York

St-Regis-Wedding-Ceremony-Florals

Sherry and Auren met the old-fashioned way, at a friend’s birthday party in New York City. “After the first date, both of us knew this was it,” Sherry told us. Auren proposed several months later on the picturesque Pont des Arts (lover’s bridge) in Paris.

The couple shared a vision of an understated, contemporary celebration, against a backdrop of classic, timeless elegance and romance. Where better than St. Regis New York? This recently renovated and redesigned, grand hotel preserves the storied feel of Old New York.

For the traditional Jewish ceremony, we created a four posted chuppah, elegantly draped in white chiffon, with a lush line of florals along the top. Candlelit blush, cream and lavender rose petals lined both sides of the aisle. Gilt chandeliers and soaring ceilings in The St. Regis Roof, a Beaux Arts Ballroom, called for tall, couture-look centerpieces. Flowers including Cool Water and Ocean Song roses were carefully arranged to create a chic ombre effect, from cream to blush, to pale pink, to deeper lavender.

We Love: Mini-Succulent Party Favors

Mini-Succulent-Party-Favors

We created these mini-succulent party favors for guests at our Spring Showroom Opening Party and we received so many compliments that we thought we’d share the idea. Simple to make and charming whether presented in a large grouping or singularly at place settings, these make great wedding favors or bridal shower favors. Use fresh succulents planted in soil, instead of cuttings, for party favors that are living reminders of your celebration.

  • Start with individually potted succulents. We chose all lavender-hued rosettes, for a uniform look, but these desert plants grow in a variety of shapes and soft colors. Ordering a collection of mixed succulents is usually a less costly option. Follow your floral supplier’s instructions for watering, then use a soft brush to clean off any stray soil.

Wedding Flower Inspiration From Sweden’s Royal Wedding

Wedding-Flowers-Swedens-Royal-Wedding

Sweden’s Prince Carl Phillip married Sofia Hellqvist this weekend at Stockholm’s Royal Palace. Who can resist a royal wedding? Lavish settings and nearly-unlimited budgets make royal weddings a wonderful source of wedding inspiration. Watching a bride become an actual princess seems to prove that fairy tales do come true. Of course, what transfixed us about Sweden’s big event was the wedding flowers.

Flower walls of vibrant pink blossoms served as backdrops for both the ceremony altar and the head table at the reception. Outside, extravagant, deeper pink flowers decorated stone columns at the front of the palace. The bridal bouquet included cream and coral garden roses with sprigs of myrtle. Cuttings from the same plant have been carried and worn in the hair of Sweden’s royal brides for over a century.
