Guests gathered for cocktail hour to raise the first of many toasts to newlyweds Sara & Mitch. Then everyone headed to The Foundry’s courtyard for an unforgettable evening of revelry. Here, featured bride Sara shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding story.

From the very start, there was a sense that Sara and Mitch intended their reception to be an occasion for everyone to cut-loose and have fun. Sara looks back and says, “There were so many details we included that meant a lot to us. Music was a big one. The music that Mitch and I and our wedding party walked into was symphony versions of pop-punk songs we love, but only a handful of people probably recognized.”

Part 3: Ceremony & Chuppah

Anticipation grew as guests took their seats to witness Sara and Mitch’s nuptials. In just moments, the couple would meet under beautiful, floral adorned chuppah. Sara describes how The Foundry’s industrial aesthetic helped guide the backdrop’s design. “I wanted to juxtapose hard and soft elements with the chuppah by pairing a sturdy foundation with romantic flowers and lots of greenery.” Her vision translated into a dark wood structure embellished with a lush mixture of roses, dahlias, nigellas, Queen Anne’s lace, and wax flowers in shades of blush, red, and white. Seeded eucalyptus, salal greenery and ruscus added a natural touch to the display.

After all, you want to look and feel like yourself, but with a bit more polish and shine around the edges. Here, Bride & Blossom featured bride Sara talks about her “say yes to the dress” moment, jewelry, and stepping out-of-the box with her shoes.

“I knew that I wanted a big, princess type dress, but without any bling and sparkle,” says Sara. Her search led her to BHLDN where she found a breathtaking design meeting all her criteria. The silhouette featured a simple lace top, fitted waist, and diaphanous, layered tulle skirt. “I knew it was the perfect dress for me when I put it on and couldn’t stop smiling,” she remembers. Finishing her dreamy look with a fingertip length veil, also from BHLDN, and hair styled in loose, flowing curls, the bride had an air of having just stepped out of a fairytale.

But there are moments when someone, for some reason stands out from the rest. Just ask Sara and Mitch. “He had a lyric from one of my favorite bands on his Tinder bio,” Sara says. “I saw it and decided to say ‘Hello’ through the messenger feature.” Shared interests rank high on the list of qualities one seeks in a partner. With a similar taste in music, they were already off to a great start, even before having the first date.

An open garden wedding is hard to come by in New York City, but not entirely out of the realm of possibility. “Wave Hill was just perfect,” recalls Bride & Blossom Featured Bride Ashley. “The gardens, the views of the Hudson River, the history of the property… it was all just perfect and very representative of us.” Here, Ashley shares all the meaningful details about her picturesque outdoor ceremony.

Part 3: Ceremony

A breathtaking scene awaited guests as they took their seats for Ashley and Joe’s wedding. The ceremony was set to take place at the Pergola on the Great Lawn, which over looks the Hudson River. Though the afternoon was overcast, the atmospheric grey skies seemed to only highlight Wave Hill’s lush, natural setting.
