Wedding Crashers, a Brooklyn wedding fair at the Wythe Hotel, introduced us to new vendors and inspired us with creative ideas. This event emphasized handcrafted and unique touches to bring a personalized, vintage-modern feeling to weddings. Sustainable design and responsibly sourced ingredients and materials were hot topics at the fair, but didn’t pull focus from what couples always look for: charming, elegant and sentimental ways to express their love and taste. Here are a few of our favorite things from the fair.

In Love at The Liberty Warehouse: a Wedding in Red Hook

“Love is friendship set on fire.”– Jeremy Taylor

“Joshua and I met the first week of college and became fast friends,” said Jenny Ninyo Kaplan. The two studied abroad and became travel partners. In fact, they got along so well that they decided to move to New York City together, as friends. “After about a year of living together, we began to realize what we had was pretty special,” Jenny said. “And quite possibly more than just a best friendship. So we tried it out – and it worked! Three years later, we got engaged. A year and a half after that, we had the most amazing wedding in New York with all of our family and friends.” The couple married at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, with New York Harbor providing a scenic backdrop for the ceremony. Traditionally, yellow flowers symbolize friendship. Jenny chose a fresh, sunny color palette for her bouquet, carrying white and yellow dahlias, chrysanthemums, ranunculus and craspedia. Hydrangeas, freesia, and roses in pale peach and bright yellow joined the mix to adorn the tables and chuppah. Mason jar vases of flowers and succulents hung at aisle ends, adding a touch of rustic charm. Best Wedding Venues, NYC

Happy Tuesday! We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day long weekend. Here’s a great article on some of the best wedding venues in NYC. We’re really obsessed with a location in Long Island City called The Foundry. It is a 19th century metal foundry with old exposed brick contrasts and modern steel railings to create a unique ambiance. Such a great place for a formal sit down dinner or cocktails
