Wedding at The Liberty Warehouse: Part 2

Fusco_Liberty_warehouse_bridesmaids1
The Liberty Warehouse is one of our favorite Brooklyn wedding venues and, as you enjoy photos of this gorgeous wedding, you’ll see why that’s true. Sweeping waterfront city views, wide-open indoor and outdoor space and antique, industrial charm make this a truly special place.

Last week, we shared details of the romantic floral arch we created for this ceremony. The same lush garden theme was carried through all the florals.

For an organic, cascading bridal bouquet in classic white and cream, we used standard roses, garden roses and spray roses, dendrobium orchids, lisianthus and stephanotis.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets were composed of blush and cream roses with white freesia. Table centerpieces were classic and romantic, in the same delicate, feminine color palette of blush, white, cream and pale green. Low centerpieces featured exquisite phalaenopsis orchids. Kissing Ball

Known as the kissing ball, pomanders are in high demand with today’s brides and are used for a range of décor – flower girls, ceremony aisles and reception decor. They are flowers shaped in a ball and simply suspended from a loop of decorative ribbon, rope or cord. They can be decorated and adorned with just about anything, some of my favorites are pearls and Swarovski crystals attached to thin floristry wire and placed in between each flower. Some churches don’t allow Rose petals and there’s also the risk that you could slip on the petals when walking down the aisle. Pomanders are practical and easy to hold, a great alternative to the traditional flower girl basket and perfect for older flower girls who aren’t quite junior bridesmaids. Little girls are always happy to carry flowers down the aisle like the “big girls”. Carnations or mums are the best flowers to use in pomanders since others can be heavy and don’t look as good in a tightly packed ball. The best thing about Carnations is that they are available in many different shades and colors to match your wedding decor and when used alone are modern and beautiful, not to mention easy on the budget. If you love the idea of a pomander but have your heart set on flower Petals, considering giving petals to guests in organza pouches to sprinkle as you and your groom exit the ceremony.
