One thing can be said about planning a wedding during a pandemic – you’ll have to modify your original vision. It’s not all bad though, we promise. Working with couples over the past year and half, we’ve noticed a willingness to step outside of the box, break rules, and be creative like never before. It’s inspiring to see how two people navigate uncharted waters, figuring out what matters most to them in order to put together a day that is an honest and heartfelt expression of their love.

Looking out at the room, it was impossible not to fall under the artfully modern spell of Courtney and Nathan’s reception at Tribeca 360°. In addition to the high-style ambiance, the couple made sure to punctuate their celebrations with fun and personal touches. Here, Courtney shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding story.

Part 4: Reception & Centerpieces

Emotions were high following Courtney and Nathan’s unforgettable ceremony, thanks in part to the spirited menu at cocktail hour which included ‘The Madison,’ the couple’s signature drink named after their dog. Following a first round of toasts to the newlyweds, guests headed to the reception where they were welcomed by an eye-catching card table display of long-stemmed calla lilies.

Brad and Manjil Wedding – Mandap – Studio 450 – Weddings By Two

Engagements and weddings are about celebrating the unique bond between two people. For LGBTQ+ couples, the idea of embracing existing wedding traditions may not feel right, like a true demonstration of their love and relationship. We believe your wedding should represent who you are, and you should in no way feel obligated to follow a certain set of rules. In fact, what makes these weddings so special is seeing couples put tradition aside to create a day full of genuine moments that are heartfelt expressions of their love and personality.

The evening’s festivities commenced with cocktail hour where guests enjoyed appetizers and the bride and groom’s signature drinks – Dayna’s was the champagne-based Day ‘n’ Nite and Matthew’s was the tequila based Matty Ocean. Soon after, the newlyweds made their reception entrance to Kanye West’s “Waves,” which established the tone for what kind of party this was going to be. Dayna looks back and says, “We had so much fun picking our wedding songs. Our choices were offbeat, but so true to us. Even our DJ – DJ Jon Blak who was absolutely amazing – was surprised by our selections.” Here, she shares the final chapter in their Real BB Wedding story.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: It’s Going To Be A Royal Wedding Like Never Before

After much speculation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement. Prince Harry kept the proposal traditional and intimate, getting down on one knee over a chicken dinner at their cottage. Taken by surprise, Meghan said “yes” before he even had a chance to present the the ring, which was custom-made using his mother Princess Diana’s diamonds, and a central stone from Botswana, a place of special meaning to the humanitarian couple.

We couldn’t be more excited! And we’re certainly not alone on this, but Prince Harry and Meghan come across as different in comparison to other famous royal pairings. Perhaps it’s because he is the younger, more rebellious prince who got caught doing the same stupid things we did in college. Maybe it’s because she’s an American actress we already know from a popular television show. They seem relatable and down to earth, more like a couple you’d see nestled in a booth at a pub than seated side-by-side on thrones.

Wedding Inspiration for the Modern Bride

The modern bride is not one for tradition. Her personal style is described as fashion-forward, chic, with a bit of an edge. She will choose clean and simple over lace and sparkle any day. From décor to the gown, hair, and jewelry, she keeps to a minimalist aesthetic with a surprising detail, like sculptural floral arrangements, a statement silver bridal cuff, or peek-a-boo slit.

We love when a bride walks into our showroom and says that she wants her wedding to have a modern look and feel. Subtle, yet bold, the style makes a memorable impression. Here are some favorite looks from our real BB weddings to inspire the modern bride.
