What she needs right now is a present that is thoughtful, and speaks to her style and personality.

Every woman is unique, and the key to finding the perfect gift for your wedding-planning friend is to start by asking what truly brings her joy. Is she obsessed with her dog or passionate about health and fitness? Does she find solace in the kitchen, or does she love to entertain? Shifali and Vikram first met at a wedding he was officiating. Her friend – the groom – had been telling her about Vikram, but she wasn’t interested at first. “Once the ceremony started, I couldn’t stop laughing,” she recalls. “I immediately asked for an introduction.” They began dating soon after, while Shifali was living in New York City and Vikram was completing his residency at Penn. “We knew our relationship was something special early on,” she shares, “because we were both making the effort to travel back and forth to see each other.”

Color has the power to transform a wedding, infusing florals with personality, emotion, and unforgettable style. Yet, incorporating bold hues doesn’t mean sacrificing elegance or timelessness. With the right balance of palette, placement, and texture, wedding flowers can make a striking statement while still feeling refined and classic. In this guide, we’ll explore thoughtful ways – brought to life in our Real BB Weddings – that embrace color fearlessly, creating floral designs that are both bold and beautifully enduring.

Use a Monochromatic Palette
If a combination of bold shades doesn’t fit your wedding vision, consider choosing one color family and explore its gradient – blush to magenta, pale peach to deep coral, or soft lavender to plum. The result feels cohesive, sophisticated, and romantic.

A thoughtfully designed wedding evolves in mood throughout the day, with the ceremony often being the most intimate moment. Because décor plays such a powerful role in shaping the atmosphere, many couples ask us how to create a setting that feels personal and heartfelt as they exchange vows in front of loved ones. Our first recommendation? Candles. A timeless symbol of romance, warmth, and celebration, candles have an undeniable ability to transform a space. Their versatility makes them especially appealing – they pair beautifully with lush, organic florals as well as with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Nhung and George began dating in August 2018. Although they met through Bumble, Nhung remembers the spark that kicked off their relationship as feeling natural and effortless, like when two strangers meet and know they’re going to be lifelong friends. “We are so different but also alike. We both have a great sense of humor and style, but George is messy and I’m neat,” she says. “We balance each other in ways we never knew we both needed.”

While many couples plan elaborate, social media-ready proposals, Nhung and George approached their engagement with the same relaxed, easy-going attitude that brought them together. The event took place on April Fool’s Day 2023 while they were on vacation in Turks & Caicos. “George isn’t the most romantic let’s just say that,” Nhung jokingly admits. “So, we planned for him to ask at sunset.” With some time to kill before popping the question, he took a quick dip in the ocean while she waited on the beach with the ring.

There’s been a lot of buzz about draping on the wedding design scene lately. While draping as decor isn’t exactly a novel concept, now more than ever couples are using beautiful fabrics in fresh and creative ways to highlight focal points such as a ceremony structure, an entrance, or the dance floor. Just like choosing wedding flowers, there are basics you should know before covering any ceilings or walls. Draping comes in an array of textiles that best complement a desired aesthetic – sheer voile and chiffon are lovely choices for daytime and garden weddings, lavish velvet looks striking in a classic or historical venue, and shimmering satin blends wonderfully into a modern setting. Be sure to reach out to the appropriate vendors for guidance – your planner (if you have one), florist (Bride & Blossom offers draping as part of our design services), venue manager, and lighting person (if you have one) should all be in communication and ready to help execute your vision. Looking for ideas to get you started? Here are examples from the Real BB Weddings archives that take this favorite wedding trend of 2025 to great new heights.
