With its charming cottage-like building, scenic waterfront atmosphere, and breathtaking views of Moriches Bay, Trumpets At The Gate looks like a postcard come to life. Kristen says, “When my sister Rachel found the venue just six weeks from our wedding date, it completely changed our plans in the most amazing way.” After seeing the wooden walkway leading to the water, Kristen and Joe knew it was where they would have their nuptials. Here, Kristen talks about her beautiful outdoor ceremony at Trumpets At The Gate.

Part 3: Ceremony & Wedding Arch

The day couldn’t have been more picture-perfect. As guests took their seats, they were met with a lovely scene that set the tone for the event that was about to unfold. Before them stood a jaw-dropping wedding arch set against a blue sky, verdant green scenery, and crystal waters. Expressing Kristen’s romantic style, the gazebo archway featured various types of roses, ranunculus, peonies, hydrangeas, and dahlias in a gorgeous palette of blush, hot pink, peach, red, purple, burgundy, cream, and white. The blooms were complemented by lush greenery, which added an enchanted garden feel to the display.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt details that reflected Kristen and Joe’s personality. “My favorite Disney movie is ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ I love that Beauty is a strong female character set in a really romantic story. And the story centers around the rose, which is my husband’s flower. When we were looking for something for our ring bearer, my nephew Luca, to carry the rings down the aisle with, I found this ring box that was made to look like a classic leather storybook of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ It was so special because really only Joe and I knew about it.”

The bride didn’t mind sharing an unexpected, and slightly humorous moment that happened while walking down the aisle. “My veil had hand-beaded crystal flowers at the edges. As I was walking, my head jerked back all of a sudden. Trying to maintain my composure, I looked back and realized that the beads of my veil were catching on the wooden aisle. I started laughing and then the guests joined in. At the end of the day, something is going to wrong. And to be able to laugh about it was such a relief. ”

The rest of the ceremony went according to plan. Everyone watched as Kristen and Joe exchanged vows and said, “I do.” Kristen reminisces and says, “ The natural setting, being outside near the water, and the wonderful weather… it was all so peaceful and gorgeous. And our guests were blown away by the beauty of our ombre pink and red floral decor.”
