While planning your engagement party, bridal shower, or wedding, keep in mind that some of your guests may have allergic reactions to the pollen or fragrance of certain flowers. Fear not, for the flowers that are the worst offenders are not used very often in wedding arrangements! The worst flowers for allergy sufferers are chamomile, chrysanthemums, daisies, goldenrods and ordinary sunflowers. Here’s a great website that can provide you with more information on flowers that are ok to use.
Many of the news stations and media outlets are still buzzing about the Oscars, what designers the stars wore, and Michelle Obama’s guest appearance. Here’s a sample we just did for a March bride. She choose all white flowers with a round, compact shape in a black cube vase for a classic look. We added a mirror underneath to illuminate the arrangement and give it a dash of elegance once candles are added.
Did you know that Valentine’s Day dates back to the time of the Roman Empire during the reign of Claudius II, 270 A.D. Claudius didn’t want men to marry during wartime because he believed single men made better soldiers. Bishop Valentine went against his wishes and performed secret wedding ceremonies. For this, Valentine was jailed and then executed by order of the Emperor on Feb. 14. While in jail, he wrote a love note to the jailor’s daughter, signing it, “From your Valentine.” Sound familiar?

Check out our designs as featured on Lela New York Weddings for a beautiful wedding on Westhampton Beach at the Oceanbleu. The bride choice a beachy theme with seashshells and a color palette of blue, white and pops of sunshine yellow. Especially love the card table arrangement with white and blue hydrangea along with accents of bear grass for that dune like feel.
