Wedding Favors Your Guests Will Be Talking About Long After You Say “I do”

Wedding favors have come a long way. Today, couples are thanking their guests with gifts that not only reflect their personality, but are practical as well. Because what is the point of spending money on something people will end up throwing away?

We always look forward to the unique and surprising tokens of appreciation the bride and groom have come up with. Gifts relate to everything from the venue and wedding theme to the restaurant where the couple had their first date to their love of food and wine. Here are wedding favor ideas that will make a memorable impression on your guests.

For the bride and groom getting married at the Brooklyn Winery, we can’t think of a more appropriate wedding favor than a nice bottle of wine. Each bottle has a tag with the guest’s name, which also serves as an escort card for seating. Commemorate the day with specialty labels that feature your names and wedding date.

Guests will love arriving to their table to find a chocolate bar waiting for them. When it comes time to pick out your goodies, skip the big companies and support a local, independent chocolatier like this couple did for their Ritz-Carlton Battery Park wedding. Chic packaging design and customized labeling made the favors extra special.

Renting out Dylan’s Candy Bar for a post-ceremony sugar fest is probably out of the question. This bride and groom found a way around the problem by having Dylan’s Candy Bar come to them. At their Trump SoHo wedding, a candy buffet was arranged where guests could swing by, grab a bag, and fill up on their favorite sweets such as sour patch kids, gummy bears, and runts. A collective sugar rush is sure to follow, and will fuel a late night wedding dance party like never before!

Here’s the most charming idea for a wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Flower seed packets with guest names were arranged on a bed of moss and displayed on the card table. Guests happily walked away with a lovely new addition for their flower garden at home. This favor is so delightful that even those who claim to have a black thumb will want to give gardening a try again.

“For one wedding, guests were given these really pretty potted succulents in clear holders with a thank you tag,” she recalls. “They looked absolutely beautiful and people can grow them afterwards.”

Another of Tatiana’s winning favors involved our beloved fried dough confectionery with a hole in the center. “One couple gave their guests donuts with special dipping sauces from the restaurant where they met. The favor was packaged in a little box with a personalized label so everyone had an awesome treat to enjoy post wedding!”

You want your wedding to be unique and beautiful for all to remember. As you plan, keep in mind that the one thing every guest will notice is the wedding favor. We hope these ideas help you choose a favor that is a true refection of your love and personality.
