While planning the lay out and décor of a wedding reception, a main goal is to create points of interest that grab the attention of guests while guiding them to various areas such as their table, the bar, etc. One focal point that often gets looked over is the wedding card box. Between the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour, and socializing and entertainment that follows, people get caught up in the reverie of the day. It’s important to set up a highly-visible display to remind them that the card they’ve been carrying has a proper place to go. No ‘just married’ couple wants to return from their honeymoon and learn that their guests were confused and cards were misplaced, or even worse, lost in the shuffle.

Ask anyone who has gone through the process, figuring out the seating plan is one of the most brain-racking tasks of wedding planning. Unfortunately, once you have the plan mapped out on paper, there are still more details to consider in this area – specifically, the manner in which your guests will be guided to their seats. The main goals of the escort card table and seating chart are to maintain visual interest, usher seamless flow from Part 1 to Part 2 of the event, and provide clear seating information. Unsure of which option is best for you? We are here to help.

This time last year, no one could have predicted what 2020 had in store for us. We rang in the New Year excited for a new chapter of Real BB Weddings. This all quickly changed in the face of a worldwide pandemic. It became clear that weddings, perhaps the most social event of them all, would be greatly affected as our new reality unfolded by the day.

If anything, 2020 has forced us to change perspective and consider what is most important and valuable in our lives. The handful of weddings we did are a testament to this new sentiment. Faced with an unprecedented list of challenges, couples shifted their focus and asked, “How can we make the most of this day given the situation and make it feel special and meaningful?” Large and lavish celebrations gave way to small, intimate gatherings where every detail was heartfelt and thoughtful (not that they weren’t before, but you get the idea). And friends and family who couldn’t be there in person joined via Zoom and FaceTime. While original wedding visions may have changed, the love, emotion, and beauty that unites two people in life remained as strong as ever.
