Wedding Flower Details From The Rachael Ray Show

Valentine's Wedding Flowers for Rachael Ray SHow

When we were invited to design wedding flowers for a segment on The Rachael Ray Show, we didn’t have much time. We also didn’t have input from the bride; the producers wanted to surprise her! We knew one thing: this bride deserved to have the best wedding flowers.

For a Valentine’s Day wedding, we couldn’t think of anything more classic and romantic than using shades of red and pink! Our collaborator, Genevieve Gorder, agreed the look should be lush and lovely and have a bit of modern twist.

To achieve this look, we couldn’t use just any old shade of red or pink… We carefully selected each color, making sure each shade complimented one another.

Getting married at The Garrison, a gorgeous inn in the Hudson Highlands region of New York, means 360-degree views of the Hudson River, gorgeous natural light and crisp mountain air, all just an hour from New York City. This enchanting setting calls for fresh florals to weave nature’s beauty throughout the wedding ceremony and celebration.

One of our favorite ways to compose bouquets is to combine standard roses, garden roses and spray roses, in a subtle color palette, to add interest and depth. For this bridal bouquet, we began with classic, cream vendela roses. The groom’s boutonnière stayed simple with just a few white and cream blooms.

Hawaii Beach Wedding Under Hurricane Skies

Hurricane-wedding-chrisjevans

When I saw these breathtaking photos of my friend Katiann’s wedding, I asked her to share her story of putting together a beach wedding in Oahu while hearing reports that two hurricanes were about to hit. As you can see, this story does have a happy ending. In her own words:

The week leading up to our day was nothing short of stressful. With two uninvited guest on their way, our wedding week had officially gone in to high gear. Flowers and catering were the least of my worries, I now had two hurricanes coming for my day.

J. and I knew no matter what the weather had in store for us we had each other and Hawaii and that’s all that mattered. Changing our date and rearranging everything was minor in the big picture. All of the “stuff” that we brides stress over had fallen to the wayside. I was marrying the love of my life in paradise.

Blush Bouquets Under the Brooklyn Bridge

image

New York City brides, get ready to be inspired! We loved bringing this bride’s vision of classic, feminine wedding flowers to life in a color palette of blush, cream and white. A reception venue right on the Brooklyn waterfront in Williamsburg gave the celebration (and the photos!) a stunning skyline-view backdrop.

To create rounded, compact bouquets, we used petal-dense roses, garden roses and ranunculus. The sweet flower girl carried a pomander ball of carnations. Lush, tall centerpieces set the mood at Giando on the Water. Loosely arranged white hydrangea and ranunculus, blush stock and garden roses and cream roses were loosely arranged in trumpet vases. Cascading burgundy amaranthus and candles in crystal added over the top romance.
