Rustic Floral Arches

Nothing says romance like a naturalistic arch custom-built for your wedding vows. From simple structures of branches and greenery to colorful compositions dripping with roses, there is no end to the creative combinations you and your floral designer can come up with.

These work well both indoors and outdoors, so don’t worry too much about whether or not they’re “in season.” A good florist can make the magic happen regardless of when or where your wedding will take place. Here are some of our favorite rustic arches and structures from the Bride & Blossom archives!

“Adam and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at Houston Hall. He caught my eye, and we started talking. He got right to the point and asked me if I had a boyfriend. When I said no, he asked if I was at the party with anyone. Adam took me out dancing when the party was over, and we both felt an instant connection. Five weeks later we were in love and inseparable, one year after that we were engaged, and one year after that we were preparing to walk down the aisle! Every day we thank our lucky stars that we walked into each other’s lives.”

This is one of the easiest wedding trends to take advantage of, because there are so many ways to implement it! Whether you’re looking for a traditional chair accent, like this one below from a Bride & Blossom wedding at Maritime Parc, something quirky and cute from Amazon, or a clever way to proclaim that there will be two brides at your wedding, our gallery below offers a ton of ideas to spark your own creative interpretation.

Ridiculous Retro Wedding Advice

Modern_Bride_cover

It’s no secret that the 1940s and 1950s were a strange time for feminism: girdles, cigarettes-as-diet-aids, and the concept that a college-educated woman’s utmost ambition should be a washing machine and 2.5 children abounded. Then as now, the wedding industry was in full swing, and publications like Modern Bride, Ladies’ Home Journal, and many more were keen to offer advice to newlyweds and brides-to-be. Here are a few of the most ridiculous snippets of advice we found when combing through the vintage wedding archives.

Retro Pepsi

This Pepsi-Cola ad from 1956 claims that the “wholesome” qualities of the beverage create the “leanest, fittest-looking grooms and slimmest-waisted brides in history,” which obviously makes their marriages more likely to succeed…
