There are many reasons for wanting lofty table décor – it commands the eye while creating an alluring reception atmosphere. From a practical standpoint, a high centerpiece allows for more space below to accommodate the ever-flowing drinks and cuisine. One major trend we saw in our 2019 Real BB Weddings was the harlow stand. Taking the place of a tall vase, the harlow stand is 4-post metal structure used to display flowers. It is available in various heights and colors such as gold, silver, bronze, and black.

As a wedding florist, we have much to be excited for heading into the fall. This time of the year has a particular air about it, which can be sensed in nature’s dark and moody turn as the days get shorter, colder, and quieter. And as the season changes, so does wedding décor. Soft hues and flirty accents give way to richer palettes and natural elements. When it comes to styling and design, autumn has much more to offer than pumpkins, orange, and Halloween (though there is nothing wrong with incorporating any of these themes into your big day!) From pretty bouquets to jaw-dropping ceremony backdrops to lavish tablescapes, we’re sharing gorgeous fall wedding décor ideas that celebrate the season’s romantic side.

Pretty Wedding Decor Ideas With Alstroemeria Flowers

We are often asked about filler flowers – the background blooms that help bring a wedding bouquet or centerpiece to life. One of our favorites for late summer/early fall is the alstroemeria, also known as the Peruvian Lily. With three to five blooms per stem, spotted petals, and an exotic look, it has a bit more character than other fillers. Color availability ranges from white and blush to unique bi-colors to vibrant orange, pink, red, and purple.

The alstroemeria was named after its discoverer, Baron Claus von Astromer, a Swedish naturalist who happened upon the bloom while collecting seeds in Spain in 1753. In the language of flowers, it symbolizes friendship, devotion, and following your dreams. In addition to beauty and style, if the meaning of your wedding flowers is important to you, then the alstroemeria is an excellent choice to have around on the big day.

Your wedding is going to be the biggest party you’ll ever throw. And we’ve all seen the aftermath of a good party. From the leftover bottles, food containers and bags to the use-once-and-throw-away decorations, it’s a big carbon footprint.

Making smarter, sustainable decisions in the way we consume is something we should all be practicing. With some planning, incorporating these principles into your big day is easy to do. And as you will see, having an eco-conscious wedding doesn’t mean you have to compromise your style and personality.
