The vows have been exchanged, dinner has been served, and now the wedding band is hitting the first note, signaling that the real party is about to begin. It comes as no surprise really that when asked what the favorite part of their wedding was, many of our clients respond along the lines of “dancing the night away surrounded by the people we love most!” All the stress related to wedding decorum has passed and the dance floor becomes a symbol for everyone to relax, let loose, and have fun. Many couples choose to send the message to their guests that this area is designated for celebration without limits by creating a beautiful and welcoming setting. Additionally, this is a focal point in the reception that allows for creative freedom, playfulness, and surprise – we worked on wedding at Oheka Castle that started with an elegant garden theme and ended with everyone dancing under a covering of balloons and flowers. From fairytale floral canopies to blooming chandeliers to shimmering disco balls, here are unique wedding dance floor decor ideas guaranteed to get you on your feet.

To say that 2022 has been an unprecedented year for weddings would be an understatement. It was predicted that more couples would say “I Do” in 2022 than in any other year since 1984. While exact numbers aren’t in yet, our sense is that we’re close to hitting the mark. As wedding florists, we saw firsthand how getting married in a post-pandemic moment influenced our clients’ decisions. Perhaps it had to do with the slowing down and reflection that happened during 2020-2021, but couples were more willing than ever before to take risks and be creative when it came to flowers and decor, attire, food, and entertainment. Expectations about everything being ‘perfect’ gave way to being fully present during this once-in-a-lifetime event. While many of the weddings we are about to highlight look spectacular on an aesthetic level, upon further inspection, you will see that they are speckled with unique and meaningful details that are a sincere expression of the couple’s love and personality. Please join us as we look back at the Real BB Weddings of 2022.

Destination Inspiration: Ireland

The Emerald Isle, with its fabled stretches of coastal green landscapes, offers an evocative inspiration for an utterly breathtaking wedding. Ireland conjures visions of vintage Irish lace and Waterford crystal next to the warm brown of a wooden bar. This inspiration is ideally suited to a décor that leans to the nostalgic, especially with elements such as a wedding dress or motifs that have a more retro and old world elegance.

Whether you wish to honor your family’s heritage or because its majestic verdant beauty inspires the romantic in you, adding touches of Ireland to your décor will transform your event into an unforgettable destination wedding. Giving attention to the defining elements of your wedding will help to thread your chosen theme throughout. Focusing on these first, keeping in mind they should all flow together, then sprinkling in the details, makes for a cohesive design aesthetic.

Repurposing Floral Arrangements from Your Wedding

You’ve been waiting your whole life for this moment. You’re getting married, and with great celebration comes great planning. First thoughts in the planning process are often the venue, your dream dress and food to impress the guests. Yet with all this in mind, it’s important to remember that your bridal flowers are something to put great thought and design into. They are a treasure to be seen, and a lot of time, planning and budgeting goes into your florals to bring your wedding and theme to life. However, due to the life span of these gentle blossoms and their fleeting beauty, many tend to shy away from grand floral pieces to avoid the guilt or afterthought that your flowers will only have a life span of a few hours. What happens to these radiant beauties after the reception has ended and guests are walking out after they danced the night away? Though their sole purpose is to bring beauty, romance and charm into your wedding day ceremony, pictures and reception, some couples deem it a waste of money that flowers are used only for one night. They end up scaling down the designs they had dreamed of, so as to not feel bad about having large amounts of “wasted money” sitting around.

Flowers and Frosting

A wedding wouldn’t be a wedding without a show stopping cake; the first piece cut as a newlywed couple, shared with joy, love and laughter. The cake is displayed for all to admire throughout the night until the treasured cake cutting ceremony where its details, design and individuality are greatly notice and appreciated. The evolution of the traditional wedding cake has progressed from a simple sheet cake to now offering multiple layers, tiers and decadent accents. One of the newest trends in the wedding industry is not only making flowers out of edible pieces such as frosting and sugar, but also featuring real flowers on the cake. This trend is hitting the scene in a great way, and is one that we can’t believe took so long to get here! The idea of incorporating your bridal flowers onto your cake ties the theme together beautifully and is a great way to ensure a one-of-a-kind picturesque confection.
