You know you are in for an epic proposal story when it involves shutting down one of NYC’s most iconic eateries. But first, let us rewind to 2013, the year when Laura and Charlie met on Tinder. “We hit it off immediately by text and had our first date a few days later at Cienfuegos, a Cuban restaurant and bar in the East Village. It was love at first sight and we’ve been inseparable ever since!”

New York City’s bridal boutiques are filled with rack upon rack of beautiful fashions by luxury designers from all over the world. Hunting for a wedding dress is exciting and fun – at first. Even the most seasoned shopper can become overwhelmed by the abundance of choices. When asked about her experience, Lauren replies, “Yikes… this was a long process. I tried on more dresses than I care to admit.” Her quest led to Wedding Atelier on Madison Avenue. There, Lauren had encountered a problem of a different kind. “I ended up loving every dress I tried on!” she exclaims. Ultimately, it was a gown by Israeli designer Netta BenShabu that won her heart. “When I put on that dress, I finally knew my search was over.”

Melanie and Nick met like many couples do these days – online. After a few email exchanges, they made plans to meet at a chic downtown NYC bar only to find out there was a two hour wait to get in. The dive bar just around the corner seemed like a better option. Melanie recalls, “We spent hours talking and playing pool against a Michael Clark Duncan’s look-alike. In the cab ride home, I realized Nick forgot to close out our one-drink tab. That’s how lost in the moment we were.” She continues, “When we said our goodbyes, we both knew that we had just been on our ‘last’ first date.”
