Wedding Inspiration for the Modern Bride

The modern bride is not one for tradition. Her personal style is described as fashion-forward, chic, with a bit of an edge. She will choose clean and simple over lace and sparkle any day. From décor to the gown, hair, and jewelry, she keeps to a minimalist aesthetic with a surprising detail, like sculptural floral arrangements, a statement silver bridal cuff, or peek-a-boo slit.

We love when a bride walks into our showroom and says that she wants her wedding to have a modern look and feel. Subtle, yet bold, the style makes a memorable impression. Here are some favorite looks from our real BB weddings to inspire the modern bride.

Unique Wedding Card Table Ideas to Welcome Your Guests

When it comes time to start thinking about wedding flowers, your mind goes straight to the obvious – bridal bouquet, table centerpieces, and the ceremony arch and chuppah. One décor feature that doesn’t immediately seem important is the card table. Give it a little more thought though. The table is a key feature because it welcomes guests, and every one of them will notice the display as they pick up the escort cards directing them to their seats.

Couples can use the card table to make a statement, expressing their unique interests, style, personality, and wedding theme. From extravagant and grand to intimate and understated, here are card tables from our real BB weddings to use for inspiration.

The stars were aligned from the moment Danielle and Noah first met. Danielle was riding the LIRR headed out to the Hamptons when a friend recognized her. As they caught up, she immediately noticed the cute guy her friend was traveling with. His name was Noah and they started chatting. He offered her a sip of his beer and they hit if off immediately. “I don’t fully believe in ‘everything happens for a reason,’ Danielle recalls, “But I do believe August 19, 2013 happened for a reason.” Their wedding story is as close as it gets to a modern day fairy tale.

Springtime Flowers Feature

For those of us not fortunate enough to live in eternal warmth, spring often signifies the much-welcomed peeling off restrictive layers, heavy woolen wraps and full length casings that double as winter coats. We’ve traded our cumbersome snow gear for the tailored sophistication of a trench coat and kitten heels. We breathe again and our world is filled with the budding optimism of sunlight.

Spring weddings are much like the light that breaks through the dense, grey haze of winter. They are flirty and fresh, bringing the first pops of bright color after the long departed summer hues have faded. They conjure images of lush rolling hills just beginning to sprout with green carpets and cobblestones wet from a light spring rain. Flowers, just like fashion, change for the season, and springtime flowers are some of the most beloved around the world. They are colorful, fun and bring sunshine into your days. Here at Bride and Blossom, we have a few of our favorite flowers that we love to work with during springtime weddings.
