Fanta and Darwin decided early on that they were not going to have a wedding planner. They had been together since high school after all. If anyone knew how to best express the nuances of their love, relationship, and personalities over the course of a wedding day, it was them. Fanta is African and Darwin is Haitian. Ending their once-in-a-lifetime event in a joyous celebration that united their cultural heritages was very important to the couple. Fanta looks back and says, “It was just a big party the whole night!” Here, she shares the details about their unforgettable, fun-filled reception.

“There is that family aspect – both my parents and I still live in parts of the building. We are at The Foundry every day and consider it our home.” For The Foundry’s Managing Director Allison Du Val, running one of New York City’s premier event venues is much more than just a job. The unmatched allure of Gurney’s Montauk is the picturesque beach setting, which offers a breathtaking backdrop for saying “I Do.” From their first vacation as a couple in Puerto Rico to getting engaged in Miami, Dayna and Matthew shared their most special moments together near the water. “Gurney’s was our dream spot for getting married,” Dayna says. Here she talks about her and Matthew’s unforgettable oceanside ceremony.

Part 3: Ceremony

The moon gate ceremony arch is undeniably beautiful for many reasons. Its unique shape offers a myriad of possibilities for floral décor and styling. Symbolically, the circle represents unending love, unity, and protection. While the moon gate floods wedding blogs, Pinterest, and Instagram feeds, we have created only a few round designs for our Real BB Weddings. When Dayna proposed the idea in our meeting, we were very excited and couldn’t wait to start working on bringing her vision to life.
