“We’ve been to so many weddings, but never one on a Manhattan rooftop. After taking in the views, we couldn’t see us getting married without the NYC skyline in the background. Joye and Scott ran in the same circle of friends during college, but they didn’t start dating until after graduation. “I finally caved and let him take me out,” Joye says with a laugh. They clicked immediately and soon realized their connection went far deeper than anything they had experienced during those casual get-togethers at school. “I can honestly say that I wanted Scott in my life for the long-haul from the beginning. He really wasn’t the type to be in a steady relationship. In fact, I was his first serious girlfriend, so I knew that he had the same feelings.”

The establishment of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden over a century ago paralleled the modern development of New York City. As skyscrapers, paved streets, and bridges grew like weeds, it was nearly impossible to find a soft spread of grass or blooming flower garden. Not much has changed to the concrete jungle that has come to define the cityscape. And thankfully, not much has changed to Brooklyn Botanic Garden since opening in 1911. It continues to be a designated green public space where people can come and get lost in the mesmerizing splendor of nature. It is no wonder then that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is an in-demand venue for couples planning their wedding in New York City.
