It has been forecasted that more couples will be saying “I Do” in 2022 than in any other year over the last four decades. While the past two years have been quiet regarding trends, we can expect a re-emergence in the upcoming months of fresh ideas and bold styles like never before. Simply put, couples are holding nothing back when it comes to making a statement on their big day. What’s especially exciting is how decor, fashion, and entertainment is more focused on ‘being in the moment’ and creating lifetime memories rather than following tradition and decorum.

You don’t have to be the ‘resolutions’ type to use January 1st as the day to take stock of all that has happened in your life during the previous twelve months. For us, 2021 was marked by growth, new experiences, and gratitude. After an extremely tumultuous 2020, we joined fellow vendors in wading back into the waters of wedding planning and production. To be part of the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into creating the most important event in a couple’s life together is never lost on us. Any sense that Sammi and Steven’s wedding was taking place on a Monday quickly fell away as guests took their seats on Tribeca Rooftop’s patio overlooking downtown Manhattan. The décor and breathtaking views combined with feelings of excitement to create an atmosphere that defied time and place. This day belonged to two people who were about to start their journey of a lifetime together. Here, BB Featured Bride Sammi remembers her heartfelt ceremony in the sky.

Part 3: Ceremony & Chuppah

An escape from the metropolitan hustle & bustle of the streets while celebrating the magic that makes New York City so alluring, Tribeca Rooftop offered the perfect setting for Sammi’s self-described over-the-top wedding style. The bride admits that her vision for ceremony décor was unclear when she first met with us. “I had pinned and saved so many gorgeous images of chuppahs. By my second meeting with Rachel (Bride & Blossom’s Founder), we had all the details figured out, or so I thought. Then about four weeks before my wedding, we decided to change the chuppah completely. I’m so glad we did, because I was obsessed with it!”

“We’ve been to so many weddings, but never one on a Manhattan rooftop. After taking in the views, we couldn’t see us getting married without the NYC skyline in the background. It was just our vibe – the venue had everything we imagined for a dream wedding.” This week, BB Featured Bride Joye reminisces on her breathtaking sky-high ceremony at Tribeca Rooftop.

Part 3: Ceremony and Backdrop Arrangements

As guests made their way to the rooftop patio, they we welcomed with an iconic scene of downtown Manhattan that harmonized the city’s past and present, showing off time-worn landmark buildings against towering sleek skyscrapers. The weather couldn’t have been more picture-perfect. With not a cloud in the sky, sunlight filtered down, dancing off the steel and brick architectural giants to luminous effect.

For LGBTQ+ couples, the idea of embracing existing wedding traditions may not feel right, like a true demonstration of their love and relationship. We believe your wedding should represent who you are, and you should in no way feel obligated to follow a certain set of rules. In fact, what makes these weddings so special is seeing couples put tradition aside to create a day full of genuine moments that are heartfelt expressions of their love and personality.
