Search “#succulent” on Instagram, and you’ll quickly get an idea of just how beloved these beautiful water-bearers have become.  With hashtags like, #succulentjunkie, #succulentaddict, #succulentporn, and #succulentfreak, lovers of these blushing beauties are nothing if not devoted – and what’s not to love?

Not only are succulents gorgeous, their thick, fleshy leaves make them easy to take care of and to incorporate into any flower arrangement. “There’s just something about them that make people happy,”  says our Creative Director Lindsay Saltz, “Whenever we’re setting up for a wedding that includes succulents, the wedding planners, venue staff, and passersby always go nuts when they see them.”

A Wedding at The Picnic House in Prospect Park

The Picnic House in Prospect Park is one of Brooklyn’s most beloved wedding venues. The park’s natural beauty provides wonderful views and a lovely setting for wedding photos, any season of the year. The Picnic House was certainly the perfect place for the vintage-bohemian wedding flowers we created for one beautiful Brooklyn bride.

Mini succulents played a starring role in the bridal bouquet. The fresh green of the succulents and viburnum played perfectly against pink lisianthus and white garden roses and spray roses. Another mini succulent became a striking groom’s boutonniere. Ranunculus, in two shades of pink, gave bridesmaids’ bouquets a look of their own.
