Chic Simplicity: a Wedding at Battery Gardens

Chic-simple-wedding-flowers

Katlyn and Phil’s wedding, at Manhattan’s Battery Gardens, was a study in chic minimalism. When we first spoke with this beautiful bride, she had a clear concept: simple elegance, with a black, white and champagne wedding-color scheme and all white wedding flowers. Her vision was well suited to Battery Gardens, a sophisticated Manhattan wedding venue with a stunning water view.

When we design classic wedding flowers within a monochromatic color scheme, we love the look of bouquets composed of similar types of wedding flowers. For Katlyn’s bridal bouquet we used standard roses combined with garden roses. Textural variation kept her classic white bouquet contemporary. Bridesmaids’ bouquets were composed simply of white mini calla lilies.

Manhattan Wedding in the Snow

NYC-winter-wedding-in-the-snow

New York City is so romantic in the snow! One of our designers captured this perfect winter-wedding moment outside Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan this weekend. The photo took our breath away. Our bride in her fur shrug, the visible adoration and joy, and lush wedding flowers aglow in the snow… So much to love!

For a peak behind the scenes as we created floral decor for the reception, take a look at our Facebook album or follow us on Instagram @brideandblossom.

Blush Bouquets Under the Brooklyn Bridge

image

New York City brides, get ready to be inspired! We loved bringing this bride’s vision of classic, feminine wedding flowers to life in a color palette of blush, cream and white. A reception venue right on the Brooklyn waterfront in Williamsburg gave the celebration (and the photos!) a stunning skyline-view backdrop.

To create rounded, compact bouquets, we used petal-dense roses, garden roses and ranunculus. The sweet flower girl carried a pomander ball of carnations. Lush, tall centerpieces set the mood at Giando on the Water. Loosely arranged white hydrangea and ranunculus, blush stock and garden roses and cream roses were loosely arranged in trumpet vases. Cascading burgundy amaranthus and candles in crystal added over the top romance.

A Bride & Blossom Wedding on Carats & Cake

Bride-blossom-carats-cake

Carats & Cake featured the picture perfect wedding of my dear friends Aaron and Lindsay. What could be better than designing wedding flowers for a couple I introduced?

Castle Hotel & Spa, one of Westchester’s poshest venues, was the perfect setting for the outdoor ceremony under a fairytale floral arch and a glamorous reception surrounded by high and low centerpieces and arrangements in shades of purple. The romantic bridal bouquet was composed of rare Mentha roses from South Africa, in the most delicate shade of lavender. I loved Lindsay’s taste and vision so much that we hired her as Bride & Blosssom’s new Creative Director!

With Me All the While: a Wedding at The Brownstone

Ceremony-floral-arch-NJ

Jennifer Oratio and Michael Kainatsky met online three years ago, but as fate would have it, their paths had crossed many times. Although they both lived in New York City when they met, they grew up a mere five minutes from one another, in neighboring towns of Ramsey and Mahwah, New Jersey. They hung with the same circle of friends and even attended the same prom, but never formally met until more than a decade later. A marathon first date led to a long-lasting connection. They became engaged a year and a half later, and married another year after that. Their special and unbreakable bond is irrefutable.

In Perfect Harmony: Musicians Getting Married

Wedding in NYBG

From the night Alison and Alistair met, they have been — literally– making beautiful music together. There is something so romantic about artists who fall in love through their creative work, and begin to collaborate. This lush wedding at New York Botanical Garden was one of our summer favorites. Bride Alison tells their love story:

“My husband Alistair and I are both professional musicians. He is a cellist and I am an opera singer. In August of 2010 we were hired to make a promotional recording for an opera that we would perform a year later. The evening started out with a large group of people and we recorded the group numbers. As the night progressed, more and more singers and instrumentalists were released, leaving just a very small group, including me and my husband, who was just a mysterious, smiley, excellent cellist stranger to me at the time. We recorded the final number of the night, a very dramatic aria sung by me, with Alistair playing a very prominent, collaborative role.
