High Centerpieces for Heightened Drama

If there is one thing that we’ve learned from creating floral designs for almost every event space in New York City, it is that nothing transforms a room and says beauty and opulence like lush tall centerpieces. With so many stunning, New York City wedding venues featuring dramatic, vaulted ceilings, we simply feel the need to play into the drama with tall floral arrangements.

While high centerpieces are often more expensive than low centerpieces, there are ways to save on costs and still wow your guests. Ask your floral designer for ideas. For starters, doing a mixture of high and low is a great way to transform your space and not max out your flower budget. We also love to use hydrangeas in high centerpieces. Not only are they one of the most beautiful and romantic flowers, but they are large and lush so they automatically add volume to your centerpiece. Another trick is to layer the flowers within the high centerpiece, adding more dimension and creating the illusion that it’s even larger.

Battery Gardens Wedding

Battery gardens is such a beautiful venue for a summer wedding, with views overlooking the river and the lush battery park. One of our weekend brides chose a very romantic and elegant look to decorate the dining room. There were a mixture of high and low centerpieces, floating candles, and mirrors that reflected the open airy feeling of the venue perfectly. The hydrangea curtain ties activated the entire space and tied together all the details within the room. What a lovely wedding!
