Flowers are our specialty. But we admit to having a sweet tooth and always look forward to seeing the wedding cakes that our brides have chosen to commemorate the day! Most often, these delicious creations make a statement, and add to the décor and atmosphere. And it’s a special treat when the design incorporates our floral motifs. Is there anything better than flowers and cake? We’re pretty sure there isn’t. Coordination between your florist and your cake designer can be a great way to keep continuity throughout your decor, and make your flowers a part of your reception. Below are some of our favorite cakes we’ve collaborated on, and some inspiration we’ve picked up along the way!
1. The Naked Cake
Gone are the days when white buttercream and/or fondant were a wedding cake requirement. The “naked cake,” made popular by Momofuku Milk Bar, is at once rustic, on-trend, and ultramodern.
Succulents are all the rage right now, popping up in centerpieces, bridal bouquets, and wedding decor — but this is the first time we’ve seen one on a cake! We’re so inspired by this simple, trend-forward cake.
