Falling For Florals: Gorgeous Blooms For The Season

Here at Bride & Blossom, we always say that there are no rules when it comes to choosing your wedding flowers. But it’s hard to not be swayed by the season and this is especially true in fall. Summer’s soft pastels and punchy hues give way to autumnal tones of burgundy, wine, orange, rich yellow, and deep lavender. A golden magic pervades the air making it a wonderful time to get married. Simply put, we are falling for florals and rounded up our favorite blooms and color schemes to celebrate the season!

Rustic Floral Arches

Nothing says romance like a naturalistic arch custom-built for your wedding vows. From simple structures of branches and greenery to colorful compositions dripping with roses, there is no end to the creative combinations you and your floral designer can come up with.

These work well both indoors and outdoors, so don’t worry too much about whether or not they’re “in season.” A good florist can make the magic happen regardless of when or where your wedding will take place. Here are some of our favorite rustic arches and structures from the Bride & Blossom archives!

Wedding Advice from the BB Team: What We Would Do Differently

You spend months, maybe even years, planning your wedding day, and before you can take a sip of your champagne toast, it’s over! We know how quickly that day can go by, so the Bride and Blossom team got together to talk about what we wish we knew before our special days, and what we would do differently.

Elianna Phelps, Director of Events

Our wedding was a more rustic/simple wedding on an island off the coast of Maine (July 21, 2012). We met in Maine, and lived there for about 5-6 years, so it was really meaningful for us — it was all about the views of Casco Bay as the backdrop for our ceremony and reception. We got really lucky had perfect Maine weather, not too hot and not storming, just blue skies and a salty sea breeze. We did not have a wedding party – just our immediate families (moms, dads, sisters) at the altar with us. It was really intimate and felt right. We wrote our vows together since we wanted them to be relevant to us.
