From the flowers and candles to the cutlery, many details come into play when designing your reception tables. Providing the foundation to all of these details are the fabric elements that cover the table, also known as linens. While a table laid out in traditional white is a proven wedding mainstay, acting as a canvas on which to paint a lovely scene, it’s refreshing to behold a dining room bedecked in surprising textures, bold colors, and eye-catching patterns. Pairing luxurious velvet with frilly florals, diaphanous chiffon with wood, and garden inspired centerpieces with blossoming textiles – there are styling formulas that make these dynamic settings work so they have wow-factor, but still feel balanced and cohesive. You’ve probably heard the term ‘maximalism’ used to describe a style of interior design. Rooted in the ‘more is more’ philosophy, this approach to decorating the home is marked by bold colors, mixed patterns, and a play with scale. It’s joyful, dramatic, and emotional all at the same time – everything you want to feel on the day you get married. This got us thinking – we are used to hearing the term ‘minimalist’ applied to wedding flowers and decor. But what about the opposite end of the design spectrum where the sky’s the limit (literally and figuratively)?

There are certain elements of wedding decor that are made to not only look pretty, but serve a functional purpose as well. One such element is the presentation of escort cards and seating charts. Traditionally, escort cards are placed neatly on a table topped with an eye-catching arrangement. After cocktail hour, guests pick up the cards and are directed to their tables. This conventional setup and process is tried and true. However, what we have noticed most recently is that couples are requesting unique and ‘out-of-the box’ designs for their escort cards and seating charts. It’s the first decorative piece people see as they head to the reception after all, and sets the vibe for the rest of the night. And even if you are planning a timelessly classic wedding, this is one area that allows room for putting a personal and creative spin on decor. Feeling inspired? Read on for unique escort card and seating chart displays guaranteed to impress your guests. Read More

Here, Stefanie shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding story.

Part 4: Reception, Guest Card Display and Centerpieces

The evening festivities commenced with cocktail hour. Guests mingled, enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, and raised the first of many toasts to the newlyweds. Afterward, everyone returned to Gotham Hall’s Grand Ballroom where they were greeted with a card display made of two walls decorated with greenery and flowers. Stefanie and Mike enlisted Ceci New York to put a personal touch on all of their wedding stationery. “We loved collaborating with Pejy Kash to bring Stefanie and Mike’s classic and timeless vision for their invitations to life,” the luxury wedding invitation designer remarks. “When it comes to the day of accessories, we always love a floral, so when Pejy asked us to create something inspired by Bride & Blossom’s floral design for the day, we were in. We created beautiful floral tags using our signature Ceci Floral Watercolor, each had the guests name hand calligraphed. It was a perfect combination, and for us it’s all in the details!”
