A bride wants many things from a wedding dress. As the most important article of clothing she will ever wear, it should make her feel confident, beautiful, and true to her personal style, but with a bit more sparkle and shine for the once in a lifetime occasion. In the age of dating apps, it’s rare to hear about a love story that blossomed from a grade school crush. Darwin caught Fanta’s eye on the first day of their freshman year of high school. “I surveyed the room of my history class for a seat and noted this boy in the back laughing and talking with his peers. He seemed like someone I would enjoy hanging out with,” Fanta remembers. Over the next couple of years, they kept with the same circle of friends, watched each other’s sports events, and even went on a few dates. “However, it wasn’t until senior year when a friend suggested we dress up as twins for senior ‘twin day’ that we really started to hit it off and break the ice,” Fanta says. “I started to learn more about Darwin’s beliefs, his wittiness, and love for weird hats – he even made me wear a matching one on twin day!’” Just a few months before graduation, Darwin finally asked Fanta to be his girlfriend. They were both accepted to the same college program and the rest is history.

Couples planning a wedding as a health crisis sweeps the globe are experiencing pressures and anxiety like never before. Our hearts go out to each and every one of you. Weddings are as social as events come and making sure people are safe while approaching the ever-evolving situation is challenging to say the least.

While many aspects of life feel out of control right now, you do have control over your health and wellness. “Pandemic or not, wedding planning is a journey you take on together,” Empowerment/Health Coach Colette Lettieri says. “While incredibly overwhelming, try to focus on the fact that nothing is really changing, except possibly the date. You are still marrying the person with whom you are in love. If anything, you are going through that first major crossroads before saying ‘I Do.’ This fact is so important to acknowledge because it solidifies your relationship even more. Start by asking, ‘How can we help each other get through this period together?’”

The sweet pea’s origin is traced back to the 17th century when a Sicilian monk is said to have sent seeds to England. Soon after, Henry Eckford, a Scottish nurseryman, breeded the flower to how we know it today. The bloom became popular in the 1800s when it was considered the floral emblem of Edwardian England and was used to decorate weddings and parties. In the language of flowers, the sweet pea symbolizes delicate pleasure, bliss, good-bye, and thank you for a lovely time.

Beautiful Ideas With Delphinium Wedding Flowers

We’re not surprised that the delphinium has emerged as a favorite wedding bloom with our brides this season. Also known as the line flower and ‘larkspur’, the delphinium has a long stock covered with tiny blossoms making it the perfect accent for a centerpiece or bouquet. As one of the few true blue flowers in nature, it grows in a spectrum of blue shades ranging from pale and whispery to dark and intense.

The flower’s name originates from the Greek word “delphis” meaning dolphin. This description refers to its closed flower buds, which resemble a dolphin’s nose. In the language of flowers, the delphinium symbolizes an open heart, overall positivity, and fun and cheerfulness. Essentially, every quality you want on hand as you start a new life with the one you love most!
