Color has the power to transform a wedding, infusing florals with personality, emotion, and unforgettable style. Yet, incorporating bold hues doesn’t mean sacrificing elegance or timelessness. With the right balance of palette, placement, and texture, wedding flowers can make a striking statement while still feeling refined and classic. In this guide, we’ll explore thoughtful ways – brought to life in our Real BB Weddings – that embrace color fearlessly, creating floral designs that are both bold and beautifully enduring.

Use a Monochromatic Palette
If a combination of bold shades doesn’t fit your wedding vision, consider choosing one color family and explore its gradient – blush to magenta, pale peach to deep coral, or soft lavender to plum. The result feels cohesive, sophisticated, and romantic.

Rebecca and Kevin met in January 2021 during the Pandemic after matching on Hinge. Unable to sit through another date eating pasta outside in the cold under a heated lamp, Rebecca did something she ordinarily wouldn’t do – she accepted an invitation to come to Kevin’s apartment so he could cook dinner for her. Taking a risk paid off. “My thoughts on love at first sight changed,” she remembers. “The man standing in the entryway was everything I hoped for and, up until that day, never found. Kevin had made lemon pasta, spiral potatoes, and bacon wrapped dates and I never looked back.”

A thoughtfully designed wedding evolves in mood throughout the day, with the ceremony often being the most intimate moment. Because décor plays such a powerful role in shaping the atmosphere, many couples ask us how to create a setting that feels personal and heartfelt as they exchange vows in front of loved ones. Our first recommendation? Candles. A timeless symbol of romance, warmth, and celebration, candles have an undeniable ability to transform a space. Their versatility makes them especially appealing – they pair beautifully with lush, organic florals as well as with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

There’s been a lot of buzz about draping on the wedding design scene lately. While draping as decor isn’t exactly a novel concept, now more than ever couples are using beautiful fabrics in fresh and creative ways to highlight focal points such as a ceremony structure, an entrance, or the dance floor. Just like choosing wedding flowers, there are basics you should know before covering any ceilings or walls. Draping comes in an array of textiles that best complement a desired aesthetic – sheer voile and chiffon are lovely choices for daytime and garden weddings, lavish velvet looks striking in a classic or historical venue, and shimmering satin blends wonderfully into a modern setting. Be sure to reach out to the appropriate vendors for guidance – your planner (if you have one), florist (Bride & Blossom offers draping as part of our design services), venue manager, and lighting person (if you have one) should all be in communication and ready to help execute your vision. Looking for ideas to get you started? Here are examples from the Real BB Weddings archives that take this favorite wedding trend of 2025 to great new heights.
