Not everyone looks forward to the process of figuring out what they are going to wear down the aisle. “I don’t love playing dress up,” BB Featured Bride Marisa admits. “I actually hated wedding dress shopping.” However, because she stayed true to her understated personal style, Marisa’s experience navigating the deep waters of bridalwear was quick and pain-free. Here, she shares all the details about her breathtakingly romantic Mira Zwillinger dress and wedding day accessories.

Part 2: Wedding Dress and Personals

Before even setting foot in a boutique, Marisa had her eye on Mira Zwillinger, the Tel Aviv based bridal label known for designs that combine ethereal embellishment with modern sensibility. “I saw one of their dresses on Instagram and fell in love with it. From that point on, every dress that I saw and liked ended up being by Mira Zwillinger.”

With a crystal-clear idea of what she wanted, Marisa, accompanied by her parents, headed to her first bridal salon appointment. “I found my dress in the first five minutes we were there,” Marisa remembers. She still did her due diligence, trying on a selection of gowns at another boutique. “I immediately knew they weren’t for me,” she says. “Nothing made me feel how I felt in that first dress.” Postponing the wedding because of Covid-19 resulted in the dress hanging in Marisa’s closet for the next two years. “There were some moments when I had nerves about making such a fast decision,” she confides. “Thankfully, my dress stood the test of time.”

Marisa’s choice took shape in an A-Line silhouette featuring delicate layers of silk and tulle overlay. Exquisite handmade floral and ivy embroidery adorned the bodice, cascading down through the diaphanous skirt. Accessories and jewelry were simple, yet sophisticated. Adorned with only her rings and floral dangle earrings, Marissa carried an elegant bouquet of thirty crisp white mini calla lilies. For the ceremony, she wore a cathedral-length veil, which was also by Mira Zwellinger and embroidered with blossoms. She finished her ensemble with bow trimmed bridal flats by Stuart Weitzman.

Josh dressed the part, sporting a sharp navy-blue suit by Zegna, light blue silk tie, and brown Magnanni shoes. His groomsmen donned similar formal attire. When asked about the move to have her bridesmaids wear white dresses, Marisa answers, “I have always loved that look. It comes across as really classic and beautiful.” She finishes with a slight laugh, “It also took a little bit of the attention off me… while I was getting married, I really wanted the day to feel like a big party.”
