For our latest floral-design workshop, Branches & Blooms, we filled the showroom with vibrant fall flowers and invited the class to get creative with color, shape and texture. We had such a warm, enthusiastic and talented group. We’ve been telling everyone our classes are NYC’s best girls’ night out, but it turns out, they also make a great date night. We were delighted to see more than one gentleman in the showroom this time!
Expert floral stylist, Dawn, charmed the class as she demonstrated technique and shared insider tricks. Here’s one tip that kept coming up: don’t overthink it! (The wine helps with that.) Relax, follow your instincts and experiment. Working with flowers is about using your senses. Get a feel for the way each stem feels in your hand. Notice which colors draw you in, and don’t forget to stop and breathe in the fragrance.
Everyone who attends flower class leaves with their very own creation, plus the skills to make floral decor at home. If you came to class, don’t forget to tag us @brideandblossomnyc when you post your own flower-class photos. Follow us on Instagram to see more shots of finished arrangements.
