This past holiday season, a handful of high-profile ladies took advantage of their vacation time by walking down the aisle. From the gorgeous gowns and luxury venues to the floral decor and after parties, each of these stars in the worlds of entertainment and sports made their special day truly remarkable. We are always up for a good celebrity wedding recap and decided to take a look at the famous brides who rang in the New Year by saying “I Do.”

Hilary Duff

Our first famous bride to tie the knot over the holidays is Hilary Duff. The ‘Younger’ actress married singer and record producer Matthew Komas in an intimate ceremony at their L.A. home just before Christmas. The internet was abuzz when Hilary posted photos of her custom gown by Jenny Packham. Simple yet bold, the design featured a fishtail silhouette (100 buttons adorned the back!) paired with structured shoulders and cape-like sleeves. For their at-home nuptials, the couple worked with planner Yifat Oren of Oren & Co and floral design studio Hollyflora to create a romantic, dreamy atmosphere expressed though organic greenery and soft pink, plum, and off-white florals.

Ali Krieger & Ashlyn Harris

How do two soccer superstars cap off winning the 2019 Women’s World Cup? By getting married at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami. To say brides Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris’s end-of-the-year wedding was a tour-de-force of cutting-edge style would be a serious understatement. Ali wore a fitted, long-sleeve gown by Pronovias and carried a stunning white calla lily and succulent bouquet. Ashlyn enlisted American designer Thom Browne to fashion a one-of-a-kind tuxedo embellished with beaded argyle detailing. To make their wedding dreams a reality, the couple worked with Sara Renee Events and Always Flowers & Events, complementing the Old-World Mediterranean setting with gorgeous white florals and greenery décor that included an in-the-round ceremony design. Ali and Ashlyn saw their wedding as not only a celebration of their love for each other, but also of their love for the LGBTQ community. Teammate and fellow advocate Megan Rapinoe served as maid of honor, tables were named after historic LGBTQ icons, and guests were served rainbow cake by Sweet Guilt by Angelica.

Erin Foster

She may have lost some material for her hilarious Instagram stories and posts about not being able to find a date, but actress and comedy writer Erin Foster gained a partner in life when she married Simon Tikhman, CEO and co-founder of The Core Entertainment on New Year’s Eve in Nashville. If Simon’s surprise and incredibly thought-out proposal to Erin (both of their families joined them just after she said ‘yes’) was an indicator to how this wedding was going to be, a major event was in the works. Supported by her sisters Sara and Jordan (who is also Erin’s stylist), the bride-to-be found her perfect dress by Danielle Frankel, the rising designer and 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. Made of ivory silk, the modern romantic design featured a fitted silhouette, pleated tulle sleeves, and a delicate bow in the back. With only four months to plan, the couple sought the expertise of Hugh Howser of H Three Events to pull together their special day at Saddle Woods Farms. Romantic white flowers and greenery by Flwr Shop filled out the rustic chic venue where the couple exchanged vows in an in-the-round ceremony under a spellbinding chuppah. Afterward, the newlyweds welcomed the new decade with family and friends including the bride’s father, composer David Foster and his wife Katherine McPhee (who also sang for them), Kate Hudson, and Rachel Zoe.
