Brooklyn-based jeweler CatBird now has an exclusive line of engagement and wedding-day jewelry (and even a Wedding Annex you can visit!), and we can’t get enough of their classic-yet-edgy vibe. Ella’s Flower Class Birthday Party

My little girls have been surrounded by flowers since they were born. Coming into the studio, and sometimes even to weddings, is such a treat!

Ella often picks wildflowers and pulls apart arrangements to make her own “bouquets”. It brings me so much joy to share my love of flowers with my girls. I was thrilled to plan Ella’s 5th birthday party with my leading ladies, featuring custom made floral décor, a flower design craft and gorgeous sugar flower cake. Ella was in her glory, and I hope this is a birthday party she will always remember. I especially adore the picture of her in front of the beautiful pink Hydrangea flower wall.

California Dreaming with Carats & Cake

Here on the East Coast, we often look to the other side for inspiration. West Coast weddings have a particular vibe: soft colors, outdoor settings (thanks to their perpetually perfect weather!), bohemian brides. We looked to one of our favorite websites, Carats & Cake, and picked out a few of the California weddings that dreams are made of.

Bouquet Recipe: Pink and Green Accents

Wedding Trends: Floral Cakes

Is there anything better than flowers and cake? We’re pretty sure there isn’t. Coordination between your florist and your cake designer can be a great way to keep continuity throughout your decor, and make your flowers a part of your reception. Below are some of our favorite cakes we’ve collaborated on, and some inspiration we’ve picked up along the way!

1. The Naked Cake 

Gone are the days when white buttercream and/or fondant were a wedding cake requirement. The “naked cake,” made popular by Momofuku Milk Bar, is at once rustic, on-trend, and ultramodern.

Wedding Advice from the BB Team: What We Would Do Differently

You spend months, maybe even years, planning your wedding day, and before you can take a sip of your champagne toast, it’s over! We know how quickly that day can go by, so the Bride and Blossom team got together to talk about what we wish we knew before our special days, and what we would do differently.

Our wedding was a more rustic/simple wedding on an island off the coast of Maine (July 21, 2012). We met in Maine, and lived there for about 5-6 years, so it was really meaningful for us — it was all about the views of Casco Bay as the backdrop for our ceremony and reception. We got really lucky had perfect Maine weather, not too hot and not storming, just blue skies and a salty sea breeze. We did not have a wedding party – just our immediate families (moms, dads, sisters) at the altar with us. It was really intimate and felt right. We wrote our vows together since we wanted them to be relevant to us.
