Bouquet Recipe: Sunny Accents

Bouquet Recipe with peonies, dahlia, ranunculus, craspedia, pittosporum nigra

After one of the coldest Valentine’s Days in East Coast history, the B&B team is looking to today’s bouquet recipe to bring some sunshine into our lives! A multi-dimensional backdrop of white peonies and dahlias provides the perfect canvas for pops of bright yellow ranunculus and yellow craspedia to shine.

Five On-Trend Centerpieces

Centerpieces are one of the primary focal points of your wedding decor. In weddings past, stuffy, fussy floral arrangements reigned supreme, but these on-trend designs are a perfect opportunity to showcase your personal style.

1. The Rustic Romantic

Rustic Rose Centerpiece

Venue: Studio 450

Photographer: Carly Michelle

Flowers: Pink esther roses, seeded eucalyptus, white stock, lavender dahlia

These mid-height naturalistic arrangements are reminiscent of a walk through an enchanted forest. They accent the table without overwhelming the decor, and work well with simple color schemes.

2. The Pop Princess

Purple Anemones

Venue: Studio 450

Photographer: Photo Pink

Flowers: Purple Anemones

Though they be but little, these purple anemones are fiercely fashionable. A single, exotic bloom that matches (or offsets) a monochromatic color scheme is both an aesthetic asset and a conversation-starter for your guests.

Bouquet Recipe: Sweet Succulents

Sweet Succulent Bouquet Recipe

This bouquet recipe from Amanda Reppond’s wedding at the Picnic House in Prospect Park uses a classic pink and green color scheme to achieve a preppy, elegant style with a unique twist. The unexpected pairing of miniature succulents with traditional white roses, accented by splashes of pink and lime from green viburnum and pink lisianthus, make this bouquet as unforgettable as Amanda’s special day.

A Peek Behind the Curtain

Some of you have had the chance to visit us at our sparkling Midtown Manhattan showroom, and hopefully we will soon have the pleasure of hosting those who have not.

Our showroom is where we meet clients for floral and decor design consultations and host really fun parties (we love a good party)!

In order to keep our showroom in tip top shape (clean, organized, and chic), we do all our back-of-house production and design at our studio in Long Island City, Queens. This is where we can really get our hands dirty to create beautiful wedding flower magic. We wanted to share some images from our archives of our home away from home.

Bouquet Recipe: Blush Bouquet

Blush Bouquet Recipe

Today’s bouquet recipe uses monochromatic blush accents from light pink roses and pink ranunculus to add a touch of romance to a classic white bouquet. This is a great way to pick up complementary colors from your bridesmaids dresses, accessories, or decor.

Inspired by this style? Visit your florist with color swatches you’d like to add to your bouquet and ask about flower options that accent our color scheme.

Bodega Chic Floral Class Recap

Last week, we held our monthly flower class at our gorgeous showroom in Midtown Manhattan. Our designer Dawn showed the class how to create stylish contemporary arrangements using flowers that are readily available at the corner deli. We were truly inspired by the amount of creativity and talent our students demonstrated (many of them were first timers!). Each interpretation of the lesson was original and really proved that intuition and personality play an integral role in flower arranging. Trust your instincts!

We are currently brewing a batch of new classes for the next few months and cannot be more excited to get the schedule up next week (stay tuned). We will be hosting classes on creating unique succulent terrariums, stunning flower head wreaths and English garden arrangements, to name a few.
