You don’t have to be the ‘resolutions’ type to use January 1st as the day to take stock of all that has happened in your life during the previous twelve months. For us, 2021 was marked by growth, new experiences, and gratitude. After an extremely tumultuous 2020, we joined fellow vendors in wading back into the waters of wedding planning and production. To be part of the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into creating the most important event in a couple’s life together is never lost on us. The sentiment was felt especially hard this past year as we watched our clients finally have their big day after countless, often soul-crushing postponements.

The weddings we remember most are those that are a true expression of a couple’s love and personality. Allison and Josh let guests know that nuptials were going to be uniquely genuine before a ceremony program was handed out or centerpiece was put on display. “We had our welcome dinner at Shun Lee West the night before,” Allison says. “We tried to weave in both of our backgrounds.” A nod to the bride’s Chinese heritage and groom’s Jewish faith continued through the festive, multi-cultural reception. Having met and fallen in love in New York City, Allison and Josh couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. “We wanted to host our family and friends in the city that played such an important role in our relationship,” the bride says. “We looked at one venue in Manhattan before checking out the New York Botanical Garden. The establishment of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden over a century ago paralleled the modern development of New York City. As skyscrapers, paved streets, and bridges grew like weeds, it was nearly impossible to find a soft spread of grass or blooming flower garden. Not much has changed to the concrete jungle that has come to define the cityscape. And thankfully, not much has changed to Brooklyn Botanic Garden since opening in 1911. It continues to be a designated green public space where people can come and get lost in the mesmerizing splendor of nature. It is no wonder then that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is an in-demand venue for couples planning their wedding in New York City.

Saying Hello To Summer With Real BB Weddings On The Beach

The beach is where it all began for Bride & Blossom. It was Founder Rachel Trimarco’s waterside nuptials that planted the seed, which would eventually grow into a luxury floral design & styling boutique. Rachel visualized the floral landscape for her own wedding. On the morning of, a-bride-to-be walked through the venue and liked the flowers so much that she requested contact information for the florist. That bride became Rachel’s first client.

In the past twelve years since then, the sense of joy and excitement felt as summer begins and weddings head to venues lined with sandy beaches and picturesque seascape views is just as strong. After a year and a half of pandemic lockdown that greatly impacted how we gather and celebrate lifetime events, we are especially looking forward to this upcoming season. In addition to the breathtaking setting, what makes beach venues in the New York City area so alluring is that they offer the look and feel of a destination wedding without all the added planning, stress, and expenses.
