Caroline and Ben first met in 2015 when they both were working for a tech start-up in New York City. “Ben was my on-board buddy. He welcomed me to the company environment and my role within it,” Caroline remembers. They became fast friends, often going to lunch and happy hour together. “We were both in relationships at the time. Everything was work related, but there was always an underlying feeling that this could be more. Those romantic feelings were finally addressed that following summer.” Not yet on the same page of what they wanted in terms of a relationship, they dated on and off for the following six months. In an age where dating apps play instant matchmaker, their long, more traditional courtship comes across as refreshing. “Looking back, this period helped build the relationship that Ben and I have now,” Caroline says. “We had been colleagues, friends, then ‘more than friends.’ By the time we were ready to commit, we knew each other inside and out.”

Your parents, grandparents, and immediate family make up the VIP guests who deserve front row seats at your wedding. For this reason, designating the first and second rows (and third if needed) at your ceremony is important to avoid any confusion – no one wants to play an awkward game of musical chairs because they unknowingly sat where they shouldn’t have. But for weddings of any size, ‘reserved’ seating signs can be used to ensure your big day starts out flawlessly with everyone comfortably sitting down to the celebrations that are about to begin. From welcoming floral arrangements to personalized name tags, we rounded up beautiful ideas for assigning special seating at your wedding ceremony.

While planning the lay out and décor of a wedding reception, a main goal is to create points of interest that grab the attention of guests while guiding them to various areas such as their table, the bar, etc. One focal point that often gets looked over is the wedding card box. Between the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour, and socializing and entertainment that follows, people get caught up in the reverie of the day. It’s important to set up a highly-visible display to remind them that the card they’ve been carrying has a proper place to go. No ‘just married’ couple wants to return from their honeymoon and learn that their guests were confused and cards were misplaced, or even worse, lost in the shuffle.

After finding their assigned seats, guests typically toss these rectangular pieces of paper to the side without giving them a second thought.
