Our Favorite Wedding Decor Trends for 2023

The top wedding experts seem to be on the same page when it comes to forecasting wedding trends for 2023 – it’s going to be an incredible year to say ‘I do.’ Extravagant welcome and after-parties, mismatched bridesmaids dresses, regal bridal attire, Art-Deco style engagement rings, and cash registries were repeatedly mentioned in conversations about ‘what’s in’ for 2023. Reading through the various lists, we placed our focus on flowers and decor. What struck us about these ‘trends,’ a term we use very loosely, is that they are not trends at all. By this, we mean an ‘of the moment thing’ that looks cool on Instagram, but has no hope of aging well. Rather, these ‘trends’ point toward a collective shift in couples’ perspectives regarding how they want their wedding to look and feel in a ‘post-pandemic’ moment. Our lives have been forever changed. Naturally, the way we approach major life events will be different too. Pomp and circumstance give way to authenticity and sentiment revealing the current mood for 2023 – weddings are to be joyful celebrations bursting with unfiltered love and emotion.

You don’t have to be the ‘resolutions’ type to use January 1st as the day to take stock of all that has happened in your life during the previous twelve months. For us, 2021 was marked by growth, new experiences, and gratitude. After an extremely tumultuous 2020, we joined fellow vendors in wading back into the waters of wedding planning and production. To be part of the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into creating the most important event in a couple’s life together is never lost on us. While many couples choose to have their ceremony and reception at the same venue, Christina and Ben chose a more traditional setting to exchange their vows – the Church of Our Saviour. BB Featured Bride Christina reflects back on this part of her wedding and says, ‘it was really special because this is the church where Ben and I go every Sunday for mass.” In fact, after the couple became engaged, Ben decided to convert to Christina’s faith of Catholicism. “He actually received his confirmation and first communion there,” she says. “And we had the same priest, Monsignor Sullivan, who confirmed Ben marry us.” This week, we look back at how the couple blended tradition with personal meaning on their wedding day.
