Cornell Business Review Interviews Rachel Trimarco

rachel trimarco ceo cornell business review

Cornell Business Review featured an interview with our founder and CEO, Rachel Trimarco, this month. Rachel speaks about the importance of web-based marketing and how the floral design and wedding industries have changed in the past few years.

Social media has really revolutionized the wedding planning industry and the floral industry as well because my brides share images. We get tagged, photographers tag us, we tag photographers. We have everything in our Instagram and Pinterest feed… The whole industry changed about three years into me starting my business which was right at the time when I was ready to start taking it to the next level.

Lauren’s Ethereal Floral Head Wreath

Ethereal Floral Crown Anthony Vasquez 3

Lauren and David’s engagement photoshoot is sweet perfection. You may remember the tutorial and flower crown recipe we shared when this charming bride-to-be asked us to design an ethereal, bohemian-chic floral head piece for her engagement session.

We got to know Lauren’s lovely sense of style while working on designs for her big day next June. For this engagement session, she envisioned blush roses and shared an inspiration image from a gorgeous French wedding. Instead of standard roses, we suggested delicate, light-pink spray roses, and ethereal baby’s breath. Cool-toned, seeded eucalyptus complimented the intricate, ivory petals of tiny wildflowers, including poetically-named astrantia million stars…

Black & White Stripes at Maritime Parc

Maritime Parc Wedding CLY by Matthew

Wedding style is all in the details. For Jennifer and Dan’s romantic day at New Jersey’s Maritime Parc, striking black and white striped ribbons accented lush, white and cream wedding flowers. Crisp stripes against soft florals set this celebration apart. Gorgeous bride Jennifer shared her love story and decor inspiration with us.

These days, love often begins with online dating, but for this couple, business networking turned into a modern meet-cute. “The story of how we met is pretty unique,” Jennifer told us.  “I had just graduated business school and was spending a lot of time online looking for a job. I came across Dan on Linkedin in the ‘People You May Know’ section. We had a few mutual friends in the media world. He saw I looked at his profile and started emailing me. The emails turned into a first date, and the rest is history!”

Adriana & James - White and Blush Bouquet - Battery Gardens - by Melissa Kruse

Palest Blush Bouquet at Battery Gardens

Bouquet Recipe Battery Gardens_Melissa Kruse

It’s no secret: we love blush wedding flowers. And creating this textured, romantic bridal bouquet, in the palest palette of blush and ivory, was pure pleasure. Beautiful bride Adriana wanted flowers with a classic but fresh look. Her bouquet was softly rounded and dimensional, with stems partially wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.

We chose several of our favorite specialty roses:dusty-blush Quicksand roses, warmer blush Keira roses, and pale-blush La Perla roses. Using a variations of a similar color adds depth, even to light-colored bouquets. Ranunculus, spray roses and garden roses, brought cream, ivory and white into the mix. A few sprigs of seeded eucalyptus accented the flowers.
