We Love: Pressed Flower Phone Cases

pressed flowers iphone case

One of our brides-to-be came in with this unique floral iPhone case and we had to know where she found it. Handmade in San Rafael, California, the clear cases are sold by HouseofBlings on Etsy. Each case contains hand-selected, natural, dried flowers and petals, and can be ordered for a variety of Apple and Samsung phones. How cute would these be as bridesmaid gifts? Choose cases that coordinate with your wedding-flower colors for a sweet keepsake your girls will love.

Wearable Tech Engagement Ring Records Memories

Jewelry has always served as a memory keeper. Now, diamond engagement rings can literally hold wedding memories like vows, photos and web links. Momento Diamond rings by Galatea will be introduced this fall. Luxury wearable wedding tech has truly arrived.

“Think of 50 years from now, and it has your proposal and your wedding vows and your baby being born and your baby saying, ‘I love you.’ It will be so valuable in 50 years, when you actually hand it over, and you can say, ‘Everything is in here.’ It’s like a locket but interactive,” said Galatea founder Chi Huynh said in JCK magazine.

Beautiful Wearable Tech Arrives

Beautiful-Wearable-Tech

Last week at London’s BAFTA Television Awards, British actress Donna Air hit the red carpet in in a dazzling example of “wearable tech.” The blush chiffon dress was designed by Rebecca Street in collaboration with House of Fraser. LED lights embedded in the bodice of the dress, and trailing down the skirt, give the high-fashion silhouette an ethereal glow. I would even call this dress… wedding worthy.

Watch this video to see the dress in motion and to learn more about how it was created.

Wedding Tech & the WedTech Summit

WedTech Summit San Francisco

“Wedding Tech,” is the intersection of the wedding industry – designers, vendors, venues, and newly engaged couples – and the thought leaders, web architects and social media gurus of the technology world. These two industries have something very important in common: creative passion.

Each lighting-fast technological advance is met with fresh ideas for applying it to wedding planning, event design, service marketing, and social-media sharing. The result? Smartphone apps for wedding registries and RSVPs, 3D-printed wedding-cake toppers, wearable tech for brides, and hashtags to track guest photos and mentions in real time. This is an exciting time for brides-to-be, tech-savvy wedding pros, start-up entrepreneurs and angel investors.

Ring Cam Captures the Moment You Say Yes

Possibly the world’s most romantic hidden camera, Ring Cam is an ingenious little gadget, built to capture one very special moment. When he pops the question and opens this engagement-ring box, the embedded video camera captures her face, right at the moment that she realizes what is happening, and… sees her ring!

Wedding Photo Booths With Social Media Savvy

Wedding-photo-booth-shake-and-share

Rent a photo booth for your wedding and watch your guests pose, flirt, and dissolve into giggles. Photo booths bring out everyone’s silly side. For proof, look no further than the photo above! That’s us goofing around in Shake and Share Media’s photo booth at the Sophisticated Weddings magazine release party at Tribeca Rooftop.

If you usually think vintage charm when you think wedding photo booths, you’ll be as delighted as we were to discover that they offer so much more than black & white strips. Shake and Share Media booths feature flattering studio lighting, romantic, playful props for guests (we loved the glitter-heart antennas) and instant prints customized with your wedding date, names or a monogram. All photos are also instantly uploaded to an online gallery. Guests use social media kiosks to tag themselves and share on their own social media accounts.
