Spring Fling! Flower Class

The most recent flower class at the Bride & Blossom showroom on the Upper East Side was one of our most successful yet — we are always so happy to see the beautiful creations made by our students at the end of the night! The spring fling theme carried through their designs in the form of bright tulips, lush greenery and delicate pastel accents.

Sharing our passion for the art of floral design is one of the best aspects of being a part of the team at Bride & Blossom, and we cherish these nights when we have the opportunity to come together with the community and teach them to make something beautiful.

New Team Member: Social Media Editor

I’ve been obsessed with weddings ever since I was the “Junior Maid of Honor” in my godmother’s wedding when I was eight. They created the title specifically for me, and had a miniature version of the bridesmaids’ dress designed so I could “look like the big girls,” without the off-the-shoulder purple velvet top (it was the early 90s) — much to my dismay.

My aunt amassed stacks of wedding magazines that she kept in my playroom while planning her big day, and for a few years after, these were my favorite reading materials. This was the era of girl-power computer games like the Clueless CD-ROM, where the primary objective was to come up with cool outfits and color schemes. I spent a lot of my after-school hours dreaming up fantasy weddings and sketching ridiculous dresses.

Ella’s Flower Class Birthday Party

My little girls have been surrounded by flowers since they were born. Coming into the studio, and sometimes even to weddings, is such a treat!

Ella often picks wildflowers and pulls apart arrangements to make her own “bouquets”. It brings me so much joy to share my love of flowers with my girls. I was thrilled to plan Ella’s 5th birthday party with my leading ladies, featuring custom made floral décor, a flower design craft and gorgeous sugar flower cake. Ella was in her glory, and I hope this is a birthday party she will always remember. I especially adore the picture of her in front of the beautiful pink Hydrangea flower wall.

Bodega Chic Floral Class Recap

Last week, we held our monthly flower class at our gorgeous showroom in Midtown Manhattan. Our designer Dawn showed the class how to create stylish contemporary arrangements using flowers that are readily available at the corner deli. We were truly inspired by the amount of creativity and talent our students demonstrated (many of them were first timers!). Each interpretation of the lesson was original and really proved that intuition and personality play an integral role in flower arranging. Trust your instincts!

We are currently brewing a batch of new classes for the next few months and cannot be more excited to get the schedule up next week (stay tuned). We will be hosting classes on creating unique succulent terrariums, stunning flower head wreaths and English garden arrangements, to name a few.

Cornell Business Review Interviews Rachel Trimarco

rachel trimarco ceo cornell business review

Cornell Business Review featured an interview with our founder and CEO, Rachel Trimarco, this month. Rachel speaks about the importance of web-based marketing and how the floral design and wedding industries have changed in the past few years.

Social media has really revolutionized the wedding planning industry and the floral industry as well because my brides share images. We get tagged, photographers tag us, we tag photographers. We have everything in our Instagram and Pinterest feed… The whole industry changed about three years into me starting my business which was right at the time when I was ready to start taking it to the next level.
